Syria deploys 3 military divisions along Lebanon borders

Beirut- Syria has deployed three military divisions along the borders with Lebanon amidst mounting tension in the region, press reports said Sunday.



The leading daily an-Nahar attributed the report to well informed sources, noting that the deployment backs a similar massing of fighters by pro-Syrian Palestinian factions in the Bekaa valley, especially Ahmed Jibril's Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC) in the Qoussayah area.

OK well I guess the powers that be are just making phone calls to each other and pissing one another off or something. All these move by Israel, Syria and the U.S. Navy show that something big is going to happen soon. I remember that Syria recalled all of its citizens out of Lebanon and told them they had to report to active duty if they were in the reserves.

Gutsy move on their part. The U.N. would more than likely vote to stop that let alone NATO voting to hand them a beating. Maybe they see the NATO members unwillingness to send more troops to Afghanistan as a sign of weakness. Who knows? Assad is going to invite the wrath of Israel and the U.S. should he try that.
