fudging Rail works, truely piss me off

so i want to get to London today from St albans
first stop westbrough station or something
take bus to kentish town. (since Train didnt go any further due to works)

so a 5min train jurn from kentish town now takes 30min

get to Kentish town.

(Normalay its Train straight to Feringdon after Kingscross from st albans)

now Track is closed so under ground to some other station and from that station to Kingscross.

then to Liverpool street.

then to bethnal green.

so a jurney that normal takes 45min-1 hour took 2 hours.

fecing works.

Bodrul...I feel for you...honestly and truely!

Before I just recently got my new car, I had to work the bus lines, taxi's, and had family drive me around to my workplaces.

This was my saving grace after all this time!

Do you really want to take a car to London, pay the charges, sit in traffic etc.

Not really sure which is better public transport or the car?

Hope you work it out.

Regards,

JQ.

to get to London by car normaly takes 15min from St albans to London
then 45min Traffic in London

to get to where i want to go i can avoid the conjestion charge area easily

£10 petrol to go there and get back

By Train

£11 travel card to london, i can go there and take as many trains as i want for the day and buses to get to where i want to go.

thats 3 trains on a normal day without works (45min-1 hour)
days they do works 1.30-3.00 hours and thats Buses and about 4 trains

but funny side if i stay in London and want to get back home
it Cost £14+ and thats just a one way ticket back. unlike the day pass to london which is £11 and thats a return ticket but lasts a day.

so its cheaper by car

That's one thing I remember during my stay in London, lots of traffic, the human body wash in the tube and a bad cabbie that pretended tho not know his way around town.

I did enjoy my trip though, most of the people were great and the early weekend mornings were wonderful for taking photographs.

I did do my best to look before crossing the street since for me being a Yank, I need to get acclimated to the different flow of traffic.
