The Book of Daniel was concerned mainly with the emmediate future of Jerusalem. People in the Babylonian captivity were worried about what would
happen to their religion, without what they considered to be the focal point of it, the temple.
The Book of Relelation looks beyond that, to a universal religion that has as its focus, the temple in heaven, and the preist who officiates in it,
the risen Christ, who has become immortal.
Revelation equates the place where Christ was crucified, with Babylon.
It offers to believers a new Jerusalem that God has built, to replace the old city that has tarnished its name with the blood of the saints.
