I did a search for this specific topic and couldn't find one.I received an email from The Canadian Action Party on the subject.
I don't condone Mr. Spitzer's conduct but I found the article and video interesting.

The US news media failed to draw the obvious connection between the bizarre federal law enforcement investigation and leak campaign about the private life of New York Governor Spitzer and Spitzer's all out attack on the Bush administration for its collusion with predatory lenders.

Here is a thread:

www.abovetopsecret.com...'

But I will play along because it is an important topic. Here is the reason for the take-down:

www.ft.com...

The Federal Reserve and Treasury are playing a dominant day-to-day role in overseeing Wall Street following this week’s rescue of Bear Stearns, raising the prospect that the central bank might be given more permanent authority over securities firms.

Bankers say the greater authority is a direct consequence of the Fed’s extraordinary decisions to extend a $30bn credit line to help JPMorgan Chase’s takeover of Bear and to lend emergency funds to securities houses for the first time in more than 70 years.

“There is a new sheriff in town,” said a senior banker. “The Bear situation changed everything: people saw death before their eyes. The Fed and Treasury are in charge now and are not going to let go”.

Spitzer was a heavily involved and very out-spoken corporate watch dog, especially the goings-on with Wall St.

Thanks.I did read your thread and think it's a good one.I hadn't dug deeper in to the subject to get an idea of what's really going on.
In hindsight,I could have added this to your thread. No thunder stealing was intended.
I appreciate what you have to offer.

I don't mind - that's why I posted something new in your thread.

although what you say is true, elliot spitzer is to blame, and let me tell you why. spitzer knew he was going against some pretty heavy hitters and he should have put a caution flag on his penis. and he was well aware of what these a--holes are capable of, and the money they had backing themselves. i just hope the investigation continues from another venue, but i'm not holding my breath. was spitzer suppose to be pure as the driven snow?..hardly, but he was playing in a whole new ballgame with these people and they do not take prisoners.

Spitzer was assassinated politcally because he was hated by everyone, including his own party. He was a holier than thou man who was bringing down prostitution rings, corporate corruption etc. He referred to himself as a steamroller at one point when discussing how he was going after another "crooked" politician. He bragged about how nobody knew the wiretap process better than himself and he was unforgiving when he caught someone doing wrong.

so, here's a man who went after prostitution rings, companies with shady practices, phony corporate transactions etc and what was he doing on the sly? creating phony transactions to funnel money to his shell corporation for the purpose of paying a prostitution ring to procure hookers and transport them across state lines (another crime) for his pleasure.

In the past, when a politician was caught with a hooker, the embarrassment was the punishment. Ask Barney Franks. He wasn't forced to resign. Why? Because he wasn't universally hated. Spitzer had no friends. Hell, even his wife couldn't wipe the disgust off her face for five minutes while she stood there next to him.

When the announcement of his scandal first broke, there were cheers on the floor of the stock exchange. A room filled with men and women working in a world where high priced hookers are often part of deal making were cheering that he got caught with a high priced hooker.

It's freakin hysterical. If it were anyone else, you might feel a bit of pity for him.

His daughters, however, deserve all the sympathy in the world. Poor girls are old enough to know and understand and they will have to deal with his insane fall from grace.

and folowing my previous post, until there is legislation to stop the federal government from using taxpayers money to "back" investment banks. we, the taxpayers, might as well start guaranteeing vegas crapshooters. because of this, our national debt is going to look like peanuts today, compared to what it'll look like in upcoming years. this will inflate our dollar, and yes, finally the investment class will get what they wanted...the institution of the "amero", and that has been the ultimate plan all along. because of the way the "amero" currency will work, the control of our money will longer be in the hands of our representative government. this will eliminate what little control we had for our own monetary system. and with that, we will become a 3rd world country over time.

I agree with you but I'm not so much interested on Spitzer spending money on a tramp.I'm more interested in the deeper story.

He was ratted out and the focus is on his personal affairs.People aren't paying attention to the whole lending mess.
More smoke and mirrors.

Thanks for your input. You seem better versed on the topic and I wasn't aware that he was/is despised so much.
Being a crusader is one thing, being a hypocritical crusader is another.

yup citizentruth... but i'm sure you won't see that on fox new or any other MSM, i mean they have bigger and more important things to report. like what politician has raise more money, or what politician has called another politician a name. and there is the usual suspects...race, religion, gay, hollywood, plenty to keep the populace entertained

he wasn't ratted out. He was caught by the most basic of things. Banks notifiy the IRS when there are "odd" transactions going thru their client accounts. His wires to and from his shell company put him on the IRS radar and that led to his being caught.

He wasn't ratted out. A banker noticed the oddity and did what they are trained to do. If you want to see if this is the case, go to your bank and cash a check for ten thousand dollars. The bank tellar will pull out a blue slip (I think it's blue). that slip is the alert slip.

so in that case, we should be seeing a "cleaning up process" with ALL these transactions that the IRS has discovered. do you think he is the only one that has had large amounts of money suspicously transferred from one account to another. too many "gotcha" points with this one. they found his weakness and exposed it. i always look FIRST at who stands to benefit, then i pass judgement.

no I don't but he was dumb enough to think he was above the law. I also think his being caught using this prostitution ring was not really a part of the IRS investigation. I think that's the story they're giving to avoid disclosing the real targets of the federal investigation (money laundering by a larger family style business).

I think spitzer was simply unlucky and he got caught in a much larger operation and, in order to keep the other investigation going, they are using the IRS investigation, the phony business transactions etc as a cover.

you got that right, lack of judgement on this was definitely his downfall...and the mayflower hotel, where this happened, was right across the street from the ABC studios. i still wish someone will come along and pick up where he started with the investigation of wall street

It's not just about removing corrupt officials. They are all corrupt.

They are ALL in a process of mutual blackmail between themselves.

Anyone familiar with occult brotherhoods might know what I'm talking about. I don't want to go into detail because some of the things these people do are far worse than hiring a prostitute.

The higher up you are - the more dirt you have accumulated so that you can be hung out to dry.

Regardless of how hated or despised he is, he was rounded up in such a way that woud not have been posibble if it were not for the Patriot Act and the despotic abuse of power by the Bush regime. Period. That is the real story here.

As others have pointed out, Gov. Spitzer wasn't 'assassinated politically'. A more correct (and somewhat archaic) term would be "hoist by his own petard". It wasn't just that he was sleeping around on his wife (President Clinton has proved rather conclusively that adultery isn't fatal to a political career), or that he was using professional help (as it were) rather than office interns. It was the fact that he had them moved across state borders (thanks to the Mann Act, that makes it a Federal matter, rather than a state or local one) and that he was engaging in such behavior while publicly posing as a moralist crusader bent on cleaning up New York.

Here's another conspiracy angle on the whole mess. Bear in mind that I have no evidence for this, nor am I advancing it as an actual reason for the events.

The Obama campaign (and a growing number of rank-and-file Democrats) is concerned with the "Superdelegates" and their impact on the nomination process. Spitzer was a superdelegate pledged to support Hillary Clinton. Seeing a chance to eliminate one of the opposition's superdelagates, the Obama campaign (through a staffer, of course), ratted out Governor Spitzer in order to remove him from the equation.

In retaliation, the Clinton camp stirred up the fuss about the (Not so) Reverend Jeremiah (I hate the) White.

Ah, politics. The smell reminds me of summers on my grandfather's cattle farm.

well, one has to compare with republican sex scandals. larry craig for one. and especially david vitter. he went to hookers yet he was not asked to resign. why are not prosecutors going after him? they were hookers, which is against the law. vitter was holier than thow.

have a great holiday week end!

After reviewing the complete scenario...I also suspect a higher setup. And that setup is what I believe the OP is looking for. IMHO no one could care less of what he did or not, but who on higher levels he upset the most.

I strongly believe somehow, someone set some bait, and someone, been extremely careless, fell for it with sink, line and hook. Who would this someone be?

I have said before that i dont know the much about politics or the shady dealing around it, i am convinced that everyone involved in politics has something to hide somewhere just depends what it is, Politician to me = shady person and if i published a book about it, it would be under the catagory not to be trusted.

What concerns me is people know that bush did things to stop an investigation? is that legal? and why cant anyone else stop an investigation into themselves? also he had a male escort come porn model stay over in the Whitehouse and nobody cares? * cough was he for bushy?*

America is getting more and more screwed up every min and everyone is standing around sucking their thumbs.

You guys need to introduce laws to stop investigations be stopped by anyone for any reason, you need to stop allowing plea bargains for criminals, and you need to find a way to get Bushy and that other fella out of the Whitehouse, because he is going to take every one of you down with your country.

I couldnt care what the spitzer fella did he has been discovered and lobbed out of office, Surley there is something that can be done to get rid of him? (bushy)

Also while im here can someone tell me why, even though mcain has not won anything yet, why is he touring the world meeting world leaders? IE Brown of Britain? i thought it was very odd that it was all over the media like he had won already.

sorry to rant .. its the only thing i do that really matters
