These myths and outright lies you're propagating perhaps work with ignorant family members and friends who you impress with your jingoistic arrogance but sorry it won't fly over here with military experts buddy. Russia was a naval super power during the cold war, just because they don't have the same doctrine as the U.S. doesn't mean it was weaker or less effective. Russian navy has never been about 'power projection' as the U.S. since US HAD to do that considering their insular country is water locked away from the rest of the world. You sound like one of those people that thinks the Russian navy is weak just because they have ' one aircraft carrier ' when in reality they never needed them and never will.
Please attempt to use proveable facts next time in your assertions as they won't fly here where there are experts that know alot about military.
The world around unanimously agrees that the Soviet navy of the cold war was a major power and to this day Russia retains arguably the 2nd most powerful navy in the world. Note I didn't say the 2nd most efficient or best trained, because those could easily go to Britain or France for now as the Russians are still dusting off some of their 1990's woes, but 2nd most powerful.

Here's a news flash for those that think Royal Navy can beat Russian Navy. Sorry not even close guys:

So carter destroyed the US armed forces in four years time? Did he start or lose a war, what? As for destroying the Shah i think the people of Iran simply got sick of the manipulation and torture and got rid of him; maybe you know something i do not?
