Agent47-- yupp i did post it last night but it got deleted cause i was cursing. i dont wanna leave cause EVERY country has its FAULTS

SkipShipman--- i enjoy the freedomz but they are being taken away from us every second!!!

Tetsuo-51--- LOL

I'm sure there is a long list of reasons why the U.S is being run the way it is. Everything is usually planned out....from elections to terrorist activities some suggest. If you don't like the way this great country works, move somewhere else like other's in this topic have suggested and quit bitchin' to us about it. This topic belongs in the rant forum via BTS.

spittingcobra, theyre bound to complain. pretty much everyone from america (and the UK) is selfish. they think they're gettin it bad where they live but they have no fcking idea about some of the things that happen outside of america. its a fact that most americans and british are stuck up their own arses. i spose im one of them. i moan about not being able to afford to go to the cinema - i moan about the price it costs to see a film at the cinema...

of course people have a right to moan.... but if you look at the condition of the world overall... we really dont

Your right , some great points. It just gets old. the people complaining all time dont know anything about the OUTSIDE. Thinks for the input.

Sure the United States isn't a perfect country. Sure, there is corruption and likely has been from the get -go on some level. Sure enough, life isn't fair and we all see and live examples of that every day. I could begin naming problems I think the US has now and go for hours on that topic but I don't hate it. If I could name one thing I think really threatens our freedoms and the constitution I'd have to say the invasion of socialist who have made it their undying goal to turn control of the people over to those they think know better. Their elitist attitude of superiority is supposed to give them some kind of mandate to run everyone's lives for them.

Its like president Clinton said a few years back and I will never forget his owrds. They haunt me til this day because this one phrase let me know just what the score was.

"We have a projected surplus, now we could give it back to the people but we couldn't be sure you'd spend it the right way."

Yeah, I couldn't spend it the right way...but a bunch of wasteful politicians can? What was the current waste factor in DC at that time? Something like 70% according to a report by journalist John Stossel around that same time frame.

So there is my beef with the US. The dismanteling of the constitution by socialist who , if they can't get a law changed, just seat a judge who will even though its really just his job to interpret whats already there. In other words, I call for the repeal of every change to the constitution made by the judicial branch. Every change must be enacted through legislation and voted on by the people or their elected representatives. One person's elite opinion cannot and should not be allowed to be force fed to the masses.

You have got to be kidding me. Less than half of all eligible American voters vote during elections. With most minorities voting the least. A true America would have many more Asians and Hispanics in office. Do you think rich Ivy-League School leaders reflect the common American???

The average American in the closest way the world can see is probably impossible to really pin down.

I'll tell you as one, that most are

polite
not educated on worldly concerns (the news is very US centric)
like the outdoors, love sports
mistrust their neighbors, mistrust their government,
admire TV/music/movie stars more than they should (a big problem right now!)
educated to do a job...yet not "educated" in a scholarly sense
addicted to buying things, living above their means, brainwashed by TV
overweight yet trying everything they can to loose it
want everything "now!"
cars are for driving fast/looking cool/and get the hell out of my way
think Europeans are snobby
think Irish are cool
think English are funny
think Mexicans are dangerous
think Canadians are a bit off
think Arabs and anyone else in the Middle East are crazy
Have no clue about Russians, Chinese, Africa, or South America.
Don't realize Alaska is a state in our country.
We do want to be friends with foreigners and be liked
We like the military because it is in essence "cool" and says to the world we will kick your ass if need be...which is very comforting when you think everyone hates you.
We love our children, yet don't want to raise them
We are overworked
Don't really care much about art
Drink coffee because we need to in order to survive our daily stress/drink alcohol to escape the hell we feel we're in at work
Have no clue why the rest of the world doesn't like American Football...don't really get the "soccer" thing (don't worry I do!)
Are becoming disinterested in the Olympics
We think others in the world work just like us, so why shoud we solve your problems when we have the same ones?

Blah! Anyway we are more diverse than that and unfortunately becoming more combative inside our country because of the stress in our lives...many people feel they are not free and are getting "screwed" by someone so we are losing trust in each other. We are a great country...but we are not necessarily a happy people.

A very accurate post. A member of my family travels to the U.S.
once a year(2 weeks), he works for Harley Dav', here in Oz. He
always enjoys his biz/trip, but does notice that general stress
among the popu' is tangible.
IMO, Aussie's don't hate Americans at all. We just hate the current
admin'. And we are not unaware either. We know that Bush snr,
Rummy, Kissinger are far more dangerous, I mean W is just
the 'frontman' and a distraction from what the 'real gov' is doing.

Aussie's like you guy's. We just hate your gov'.

Chicago is great too.

Sanctum:

"Aussie's like you guy's. We just hate your gov'."

Believe me, most Americans want to be Australians (well a lot of white males do). We think you guys have the perfect life and actually more freedom. I'm more partial to New Zealand since not half of everything running around there is poisonous like in Australia.
But Americans love the natural happiness that most Australians have...sorry our gov isn't what you want, but believe me our country loves you guys.

I think most Americans are tired of carrying the torch of being a superpower...but Americans also don't like losing (remember our country is based on survival of the fittest) and we are addicted to the good life that comes at the cost of other countries. So like I said in an earlier post, for the good of the world the US is going to have to eventually relenquish some power...but people have to understand our country is not based on "getting along" with your fellow Americans. It is about dominating them and getting the most money/power you can. That's a tough mindset to change, to one of accepting a "common togetherness" with the rest of the world. Let's face it, there are some dumb and screwed up countries on our planet and there is no way the US will bow down to the requests of Zimbabwe, Nigeria, or North Korea.

You know the one thing that the world has on the US is the love of football (soccer). I really think this has excluded the US from learning more about our world neighbors since we dont read up on foreign players and their countries or travel to them for "big games". I think the rest of the world has had a more cultural exchange thanks to football, while we have centered ourselves with our love for American football. Just a theory, but football is a world passion...not in the US though.

There is no great/best country so dont tell me that this country is da best out there. Every country has its own faults and high points...

P.S.--- I had a thread on this be4 but I went a little overboard (cursing) and it was deleted and I'm sorry. I hope we can resume this conversation ...

we moved our navy to pearl harbor because the japs threntened us in the pacific. If anyone thinks that the U.S intentionally let hundreds of sailers die to start world war two then they are ignorant.
