Russia, U.S. fail to reach breakthrough on missile shield

MOSCOW, March 18 (RIA Novosti) - Top officials from Russia and the United States failed on Tuesday to reach an agreement on Washington's controversial missile defense plans for Central Europe, but agreed to continue talks.

The United States plans to deploy a missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic, which it says will provide defense against 'rogue states' such as Iran, but which Moscow views as a direct threat to its own security.

So, the "Serious letter" from Bush didnt help at final.

It seems that Russia keeps it stance in opposing forces against attack to Iran and Syria. "You can get one, but not these two..."

Maybe they give Ukraine and Georgia to Russia, but that was not enough. I think that Kosovo was in Russian demand list too...

Maybe the list went like this:

- Give us the missile shield - And you get continuing arms deal in new Nato members.
"Ok"
- Give us Syria - And you get Georgia
"Ok"
- Give us Iran - And you get Ukraine
" And Kosovo... No, we want Kosovo too! "
- We can not give it, we need this new route to the stuff from Afghanistan to European street markets...
