I have been fortunate in my 28 years to not have to worry much about the various taxes, other than income tax. I don't own land or a home so I knew nothing of taxes associated with it. The more I started wondering about government taking from the people the more it botherd me. When I thought about the Income tax, it just didn't make sense. I work and am given compensation for my production, and for the privilage of supporting myself and family the government wants money. Doesn't the mafia use this principle? Then I began to ask family members about other taxes. Learning about a tax on home/property didn't make sense to me either. I understand taxing property or additional homes outside of promary residence, but outside of initial purchase/inheritance, it doens't make sense to take over and over again. I understand the sin taxes, I understand some investment taxes, sales taxes or taxes for public works/civic neccesities, I could even understand social security (if it were kept out of the general fund), but the income and (primary residence)property tax seems wrong.

Are there other taxes you feel are wrong? Please share ideas on other taxes or tax methods you believe are better than what we have now.

The problem with taxes are they are spent on $3000 hammers, freeloading foreigners and union bosses who collect big checks to feed their fat belly’s, ect, ect...

Now that the Liberals are about to invade Washington, expecting more taxes to fund socialist healthcare and more illegal alien perks.

Yes, life is grand, but all levels of government (city, state, federal) are currently broke and cutting back. California has already fired 30,000 teachers. Gas continues to rise, we cutback on spending and the tax base shrinks. Now tax rates will rise, causing more cutbacks and less tax revenue. A vicious cycle that is hard to break without some pain by all. If you live in a house and can afford it. Stay put.

Now tax rates will rise

From your mouth to God's ear, or rather to Congress' ear:
www.cnsnews.com.../Politics/archive/200803/POL20080314a.html

(CNSNews.com) - Both the House and Senate have now passed budget plans that envision tax hikes for most Americans.

On Thursday, most House Democrats -- all but 16 -- voted for a 2009 budget plan that includes the single largest tax increase in the nation's history, House Republican Whip Roy Blunt said.

But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the "fiscally responsible Democratic budget plan" reflects "our national values."

Shh... don't give them any more ideas.
