Britain to get US-style security council

A United States-style national security council will be given responsibility for protecting Britain from threats, ranging from terrorism to climate change, Gordon Brown will disclose this week.

Based on the US president's national security council, the new body will be staffed by senior politicians including, potentially, individuals from other parties, intelligence and military chiefs, and scientific experts.

Why we need any congress or representatives, because these different name, but same influence ruled councils are the one who stay in power, what ever we vote?

Step by step, the pig picture is coming true, and Europe and USA is getting ruled by same organization and guys: The NWO.

I would love to see this, as long as the people selected were chosen based on their merit and not political allegiance. The last thing we need is a security policy based on an ideology. I'm also glad to see that this is an idea straight from the book of contemporary security and not the archaic binary of hard/soft security.

Doesn't UK have the COBRA?

Or is it somehow different from the US NSC?

COBRA is counter terrorism, and to a degree military intelligence, security is much broader than that.
