Assault on U.S. Dollar Continues Unabated

news.goldseek.com

There appears to be no end in sight for the sliding greenback. This dollar of ours is rapidly falling to depths where no dollar has gone before. In fact, to say that it's unclear when we can expect a recovery would be a gross understatement...

... So for now, go ahead and take your hand from over your eyes. The week is mercifully over and the thrashing has stopped. It won't get any uglier for the buck; at least not until Monday.

Good thread, bad post mate.

Yes the Iranian oil bourse is online now and that will take away up to 10% of the value of the dollar. The only real danger with the bourse is if it sets a precedent and other markets also start trading in Euro/ Rouble/ native currency.

The growing economies of India and China have nothing to do with the US recession. If anything, China, India and Japan are propping up the dollar by holding massive reserves of it. If these 3 countries were to drop their entire dollar holdings in favour of the euro, the US economy would be stone cold dead.

The recent slide of the dollar has occured because :

1. It was too highly valued using dollar hegemonic methods. Countries were getting a bit fed up of this so decided to correct it.

2. The Euro's creation has massacres the dollar in certain markets. The euro has risen in value against the dollar every single year with no exceptions.

3. The subprime crisis has utterly shaken the confidence of investors in the dollar as an economy. After all, if banks have to write down something like a trillion dollars in debt... where does that leave the US economy? If the economy starts going to pot while the inflation rate continues going up (stagflation), it is a sure sign of a massive depression (1929-1930) ahead.

Both of these things have already been happening. There are a number of countries that have stopped trading in dollars.

Thanks from repply!

" The growing economies of India and China have nothing to do with the US recession.... "

I have to disagree with you. Many ways US has gets its fuel to its economy from developing countries after WWII, because there has been lack of opportunities for investments and USA has given a chance. But when economies start to grow in own countrys and consumer markets grows, there are plenty of new opportunity to make money in domestic too.

When Chinese has many ways to make money in China, or county near by, why they want to invest outside anymore? Business culture for them its much more easy in India or Russia, and cooperation has hundreds of years history.

Also logistics are more easy and cheap to arrange. Continental transits are now in danger many ways: Price and security.

Recession comes from many reasons, but triangles in old land are rising fast. US is the new continental, and vulnerable in political changes, because it has no ties to past, no lessons to hold from history to present day.

World is truly a multipolar, and poles has start to change.

US Regime is blind to see the past, blinded by its own military force. But real power in war is only in money, treasures, and gold: And US has lost its domestic capital in Iraq quaqmire. Mighty war machine is too expensive to upkeep and domestic surveillance by the police government is too heavy to live much longer.

Only way to get out of this situation is to wake up, sit down to table and ask forgiveness from those US has hurt. Stop the war and safe them self.

I see only one end in this recession and collapse of empire:

Riots in DC - Burn of Rome
Kuwait evacuation - Dunqergue 1942
911 Trials - Nurnberg Trials ...

History repeats it self, always will.

Like the Indian shamans joins together in last days of fighting against white mans, they pray the course for their destiny in future: "Let the white man dies to its greed!" Thats what going to come true!

It probably costs them substantially more, time is money after all. Wait! Do you mean economic? Let's try: there is a economic war going on against fascist US regime. Economic does it. Economical is saying Putin is frugal.

Really? Woah i was unaware of that. In that case, good analysis Janus! Apologies for dismissing it, i didnt know that the cascade has already begun. This could well spell disaster for the dollar.
