The figures were released as the conservative government announced plans to "speed up the processing of permanent resident applications, ensuring shorter wait times and making Canada's immigration system more competitive."

More than 900,000 foreigners are currently waiting for the immigration ministry to process their applications to come to Canada. Some have been waiting up to six years, conservative lawmaker Paul Forseth admitted to parliament.

LOL...Anyone want to take bets on how many of those were from the states? I would not be suprised to see a mass exodus with the direction this country has been going...If things keep up the way they are going, I imagine we'll hear a giant sucking sound as flocks of citzens try to get out of this cess pool. Not to mention, Canada is quite beautiful too. heh

Canada is a sane, prosperous and beautiful country with universal health care and not much interest in fighting perpetual wars.

What appeal does a place like that have?

And even if you leave, you'll be pulled back in once the NAU is in place. No place to run, no place to hide.
