* In Mafia Work and Team Mafia Work, you play as one of Kenny Petrovic's mafia henchmen. You must complete hits ordered by the boss (via the cellphone) before your rivals are able to do so.
* A single-player mission called "Hangman's NOOSE" features co-op. You and your friends will be able to escort a mobster, while being pursused by a SWAT team.
* The map used in multiplayer is the same map that is used for single player.

For me the anticipation of this game is unbearable. In my opinion will re-define console gaming. Imagine the fun of 16 players, multiple game modes and the full map which is a representation of New York. Possibilities are endless. Cant wait to have 15 of my friends tracking me down in the free roam mode, picking them off as they drive by looking for me.

Anyone else think this will take the new "Best video game ever made" trophy in their hearts? I for one am in no doubt.

I like the GTA 3 series, and the GTA 4 looks very good.
Yeah, but the gangster theme, it's starting to get boring and dull.

I guess I play GTA 3s for the urban area exploring and not the gangster action.
I don't know, but I probably still gonna buy GTA IV.

Why the hell are console online matches max out at only 16 players!?! I regularly play on 32 player TF2 servers and in CS there is one server I play on that has a max of 38! C'mon, we need larger servers Rockstar, that is unless there is a technological barrier that forbids it...

I wouldn't mind if they make a GTA where the main character is a crooked cop. That would be sweet. It's unfortunately limited to the scope of the title. Grand Theft Auto.

I think the limitation on the number of players is due to the fact the host will be an xbox user not a dedicated server like most PC games use. Have you ever played a PC fps when the host is just someone using their PC, anything more than 8 players and the performace and lag would be terrible?

I think you also have to consider this is an open world sandbox with a computer representation of 4 boroughs of new york. That is simply a huge map. GTA allowing up to 16 players with 15 game modes across an entire city is a master stroke. Show me a CS or TF2 map which even comes close to the diversity of a city, with pedestrians, cops etc going about their business as you and your friends tear the place up.

You dont think the idea of having you and 3 of your friends in a police chopper chasing a rival clan across an entire city sounds good? Comparing this game to GTA 3 is useless as it uses an entire new game engine, aiming system, physics engine, multiplayer, not to mention top graphics. Every reviewer who has had hands on time with the game says it is shaping up to be revolutionary and the first true "next-gen" console game.

God even as a chat room for xbox360 it will work amazing. Invite 15 of your mates over, steal a bus and go for a cruise round the city causing mayhem.

There is no technical barrier from allowing dedicated servers on XBox live. As for the open world part, thats irrelevant. All that is rendered client side with minimal syncing involved. That would be a networking issue not a hardware issue.

But since this will probably go on pc like san andreas
And since there is already a mod to play that online
Could they just make a GTA , World of warcraft type of thing out off it?
That would rock
