The closest thing to a Biblical Flood relating to Mesopotamia would have to be the flood of the city of Shuruppak and surrounding area, sometime
between 2750 and 2900 BC. Coincidently, Shuruppak is the hometown city of Utnapishtim, Ziusudra and Atrahasis. It has been estimated to have covered
an area nearly 100 miles wide by 300+ miles upriver, nearly to Kish. Incidentally, Kish was the first town constructed after the flood according to
legend. Kish dates to c.2700BC.
