The first every Encyclopedia of Life portal website is not up and live.

A member briefly mentioned its coming existence back in august here

So what exactly is the EoL?


Welcome to the first release of the Encyclopedia of Life portal. This is the very beginning of our exciting journey to document all species of life on Earth.


It is not nearly complete yet, but the framework is there and it looks like about 25% of the content is in. This is a huge feat and will be an amazing resource for everyone including scientists, students, teachers, humans, aliens, sausages and squirrels... what? But seriously, check it out.
