KAI T-50 Golden Eagle:

The forum broke the links and there is nothing I can do to fix them. I'll try with some other links. [Edit] I removed 'www' from the links. These are working now.

Ok, thanx...

...as for the thread you posted..., would you mind if, since no one answered there, I steal you the merit?

Put here the info provided there. I could post more about both aircrafts but, if I do, what can put you to search?

Everybody owes some (searching) fun!

Errrr... (how could I tell you)...

It's the EADS Mako. EADS stands for European Aeronautic Defense and Space company. Airbus is one of its branches. Eurofighters is one of their products as well.

sigh.......sigh........

Like NOBODY post on my topic ( poor ultra
), I have to repost everything here.

Let's go....

The other competitor is the T-50/A-50 Golden Eagle ( South-Korea & USA )

There is a very real problem emerging in the fighter community today. The aircraft currently used to train fighter pilots started production in the 1950s and 1960s and are approaching the limit of their service life. Age and attrition as well as widening gaps between past and current technologies are creating concern in many fighter communities around the world.

Because 4th generation fighters today are more complex and capable than ever before, fighter pilots must properly trained to operate their aircraft at the maximum envelop to fully utilize the fighter capability during combat. To address these critical issues, the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) has commissioned Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company (LM Aero) to develop and produce the T-50 for the ROKAF.

Mako is scheduled to enter service at the same time than T-50, so these are both contenders.

The USA have participations in the TA-50 project. So, they will not buy the Mako.

I've heard there's another trainer coming out from a start-up aircraft company based in the US. Its their first aircraft but they say its pretty kick ass. Scheduled to come out with a prototype in 2012. Slotted to be about $15M and able to do more than the T-50. You think they'll make the competition??

That was 6 years ago emile. Besides, the EADS Mako is now defunct.

Regretfully, the EADS MAKO was one of my favorite jet plan. The T-50 looks like a plagiarism taken from F-CK-1.

The Defunct Dornier Company designed the Mako. For some reason, the Germans steadfastly REFUSE to design any of their own aircraft 100%. Either they licence-build someone elses designs or they design only a tiny parf of an aircraft. eg, they Eurofighter's cannon is the only german component. also, despite the fact that they were 20 years ahead of the world in jet technology in 1945, since then, no aircraft uses German jet engine designs as they do not design any. I think Patriotism is truly dead in buried in Deutschland *plays Taps, and places hand over heart* They need a shot in the arm with a little Toby Keiths "angry american" remixed as "angry german"
