It appears to me that the admiral, while not forced or asked to step down, essentially had to do so for himself. I think the final word to attack
Iran was spoken, and in order to maintain his integrity and morals, he stepped down. He gave the reason of the divisive press as a reason because it
points to the real reason, but does not undermine the administration's policy nor create a loyalty rift between the administration and himself for
anyone serving under him. He did the "patriotic" thing - which he had to do for the safety of his troop i believe.
So is that it? Is attacking Iran inevitable? It's so wrong. I want the troops to revolt. To say no. There've got to be a lot of them who realize
it's all BS. I believe attacking Iran is the final straw. I personally can let it go no further than it already has. But what can I/we do? I'm open
to all suggestions and advice.
