Here is an idea.
Maybe someone has already thought of this already, but if not here it goes.
The idea is to have a keep and maintain a database repository of image files, similar to what the FBI has on file and very similar to a Universal
thumbprint database, but strictly for image files.
This would be for the purpose of quickly deducing whether an image appearing on ATS, is authentic or a Photoshop fake.
Using an image file repository, one would be able to downlaod the image file and analyze it to determine whether it is authentic or NOT.
Example:
Original image
Note: Digital Camera thumbprint and date picture was taken
Same image modified with Photoshop 7
Note: Photoshop 7 thumbprint and original date retained
If possible, please post:
an original photo from any digital camera
a photo that has been modiified using ANY photo editing application
This can also serve a point of reference for those wishing to study image file formats.
Just a thought.
Thanks.
