The report says that many parliamentarians have claimed expenses for family members or transferred funds to firms that seemed to have no purpose beyond receiving them....the allegations of fraud appear to extend to parliamentarians across the political spectrum and from all 27 E.U. member states...

Being an ignorant American, I am not too familiar with the EU and how officials are (s)elected and their powers, etc. But I'm not surprised to see the corruption...they even set up "guidelines" to cover their booties (almost sounds American to me

One thing that all people, from all places, from all times can agree upon is that GREED mixed with POWER is a sure fire recipe for some good ol' fashioned CORRUPTION.
