S.F.'s tap water best in tests, chemists say

Chemists who tested drinking water from 20 utilities nationwide said they did not detect any contaminants at all at San Francisco's tap, despite news reports to the contrary.

"We didn't detect anything whatsoever," said Shane Snyder, research manager at the Southern Nevada Water Authority who helped coordinate a study by the research arm of the nation's water utilities....

I'm sure you've all read the AP report on the chemicals found in various public tap waters across the country. As you may recall, they mentioned a sex-hormone to be amongst the chemicals in the waters of San Francisco.

This article completely refutes the AP claim and says there must be some confusion.

Do you think this is legit? Or has the cover-your-ass standard procedure begun? Maybe the original AP story was overblown? I don't know, but I'm starting to think I should shell out the extra dough for some Fiji square water...
