This is my first post on a message board and hopefully you are going to excuse any mistakes that I make. My question to anyone who's interested... If USS ELDRIDGE was involved in a project like that, how the US government and services allowed the donnetion of the ship in the Greek navy? The ship is now rotting in the naval base near Athens, Greece

IF the ship WAS used in the project (and all the evidence says it was), then, because of the 'bad' results of the test proved an embaresement for the military, it stands to reason, in my oppinion, that they would want to get rid of the evidence and the reminders of an experiment gone wrong.
So, after hiding all the documented evidence and participants, that just left the ship. Destroying it would have been too obvious, so, they sold it to the Greek Navy. Out of sight, out of mind.

Anyone got any pictures, official documents, video clips, facts, stories on any of this? Didnt most of the crew during the experiment "vanish" or something?

I think if they were gonna do a project like that, they'd do it somewhere a little less public then Philly

Yea, but then again, it was the 1940's, no one probly cared if there was a ship in the middle of the harbor.

@ knuckles some vanished some were fused into the ships hull and some went crazy as for myself i can't decide whether its truth or myth

Sucks to be fused to a ship's hull. Wouldn't there have been gaps inbetween ship plating from where bodies were? If so, are they still there?

Not necessarily. Depends on how they were fused into the decks.
If the atoms of the bodies were fused into the atoms of the deck plates, I wouldn't think a gap would be left when (if) the bodies were removed.

(Probably made a mess when they WERE removed though.)

I'd hate to swab them decks....

Anyhow, there seems to be about us much evidence for it, as against it. Most of the accounts speak of it as a test to make the ship invisible to radar...others say the test was to make it invisible to the naked eye as well... What most seem to agree on, is that the ship was surrounded by a greenish haze when the device was activated, and that it then vanished from the harbor, and reappeared later in another location (which escapes me at the moment), with some of the crew members fused with parts of the ship (on an atomic level) when it reappeared... There is even a story of 3 sailors that materialized through a wall of a bar nearby (though it sounds more like urban legend on this one...)

The claim is that the 'Eldridge' was transported to another dockyard. (can't remember which one)
As it reappeared, another ship was entering the dockyard. On board were a number of RAF pilots who were going to collect some aircraft under the lend/lease scheme.
They made affidavids that claimed they saw a ship suddenly appear in the middle of the dock and disappear just as suddenly.

I accumulated relevant info at => www.stealthskater.com... .

There are 2 versions to the story (both on the same webpage). The most common is that the Eldridge accidentally stumbled onto "teleportation" (probably Macroscopic quantum tunneling -- see UNITEL on the same webpage). A recent version has it that the Navy was trying to scale-up something that Tesla discovered about briefly going back in time (in effect, a pseudo-teleportation). They wanted to re-trace a ship's route in order to make course corrections to avoid mines.

Legend has it that this quirky technology was moved to Montauk to be further investigated. I personally lean toward the destination being Brookhaven and any operational testing at Plattsburg AFB. In my opinion, Montauk was only used to test parts of the the CIA's MK-ULTRA. See a particularly skeptical review of Montauk at www.stealthskater.com... by a national U.S. magazine.

The technology explored during the Philadelphia experiment was not well understood at the time. Nikola Tesla was initially involved in the project, and then decided to back out. When the feds wouldnt let him out, he intentionally detuned his equipment, causing it to not function. They let him out, thinking he was no longer reliable. Navy scientists attempted to retune the system without Teslas assistance. The initial experiment in Philadelphia harbor was actually not intended as a full run experiment, so much as the techs were trying to power up the system and fine tune it (which is when they found out it was tuned wrong, and everyone knows what happened at that point).

The experiment was later repeated far out at sea with a number of escort ships. The results of that test are obviously still classified, however, they must have been satisfactory, as testing then began on shore.

It is known that Camp Hero at Montauk Point, NY was at least one site for testing (they apparently used the radar dish as an early antenna). I have heard and read many different stories about the results of these tests, including that they repeated the teleportation/time travel effects. I have no evidence as to the truth of these stories.

The technology developed from this research currently exists in the US HAARP project, the Soviet ZEVS, and similar projects in the UK/Australia, Isreal, China, Japan, and most likely other countries. This technology is THE DEADLIEST weapons technology ever developed, and far outstrips nuclear weapons in destructive power.

I have read the book of this where the author found an ex-crewman of the ship. He said they were in "somekind of wiered field" when he and his friend came out of it and they went on deck men were melted into the deck. Now the ships was supposed to have gone from the philly yards to either the san fransico or san diago navel yards (not sure which one). His friend was taken away and he never saw him again he was "medically discharged" as a nut. (discrediting anything he says).

I believe that this actually happened.

I think it is Truth,,,
Had everything gone perfect during the test, and the ship became invisible to radar, we would not be hearing that much about it today. The ship was teleported from a Philadelphia Naval yard to a naval yard in Virginia, not California. Also, in reports there have been reports of a green haze on the ship after it's sudden return from being teleported, which has been see around the Bermuda Triangle area, and around some UFO's. perhaps this green haze has something to do with the whole incident. As Dragon Rider has said in previuos posts, why would the Naval base conduct an experiment like this intentionally with hundreds of witness's? It is because they were trying to do a simple experiment that had nothing to do with transporting through time and space. Also, why does the government make such a big deal out of this if indeed nothing did happen? Also, after the Philadelphia experiment, the Navy did estign out in the middle of the Ocean... Perhaps they did thjihs because they stumbled on a magnificent discovery... or maybe they wanted more privacy in case a similar incident happens on their next try. Also if we did transport the ship through time and space... this was in 1943... 60 years ago. Imagine how we could/have perfected and mastered this.

Can anyone provide any links to the Philadelphia Project.
Never fully researched it myself, I just always when along with what people said.

I do research for the government. I will keep the details to myself, thank you.

I read about our tests on the Internet from time to time. Post the URLs so my coworkers can have a good laugh.

The nonsense I read about tests conducted here and now, in our lifetimes, is unbelievable. People get one or two facts - typically a name and one objective of the test - and build a fantastic tale around one or two facts. Others cross check, discover that there was indeed a test on this date, conducted by that agency, involving these test articles.

Then the assumption is made that since the proven facts match the Urban Myth, the entire myth is true.

Considering the astonishing distortions that develop within a month of tests I participate in, I can't believe anything said about a test that took place before I was born.

I will state, I do believe there is a Philadelphia. Beyond that, I believe nothing I read about the Experiment associated with it.
