Australians redirected away from US Yahoo homepage

Just the last week or two, local friends and myself have not been able to access www.yahoo.com anymore. We are automatically redirected to au.yahoo.com..., the Australian version, Yahoo7.
Can anyone tell me if there's an option in my internet settings to make my computer go to the address I tell it?
I don't want Australian news, I want US news, so why is this happening?

Don't know of anyway of doing that.I would just mark it down to the divide and conquor tactics,There is something going on here in the states.maybe they don't want you to find out

Ehrm.... About half the websites I go to do that.

I second that, there are few US sites i cannot gain access to normally, so I use a proxy, there are many out there, and they are very simple to use.
