U2U button stuck

I picked up my unread U2U messages, but the red button is still on. I even went back and deleted the message. Any reason why the button is still lit up in the bar?

I went through this the other day.

Every once in a while, I do a spring cleaning on my u2u's.

That means getting rid of stuffs I know longer need - in my in/out/saved/etc.

Try deleting a bunch of u2u's to see if that helps.

Go through all the highlighted ones (if any), then start from bottom up - oldest to newest.

I guarentee there will be one in there (although not highlighted) that will be giving you the same prob.

Thanks for the tips. I did some cleanup, but I suppose I'll have to do a more thorough job. Wasn't doing this yesterday.

What I do when this glitch happens is save the problem U2 that normally fixes the blinking U2U notice, after that keep it or delete it.

Tried that, but good call anyhow.

ANSWER:

Unread message that was not highlighted in bold, AND had a "Y" indicating that it had already been read.
