I am going to defer on this one for a while. While the actual article as cited may indeed be a hoax, I believe that there has been some research into evidence for giants existing in the Ohio Valley and parts of the eastern seaboard in the USA.

I've searched for independent varification of this and turned up nothing. I'm gonna have to go with the poster that said it was probably an April Fools joke, or possibly a means to boost the claim that The Garden of Eden was located in Jacksonville. I think an April Fools Day joke is more likely however.
