Well thats funny. You dont get points for threads in the questions forum. So I am not getting any points out of this.

What if someone just posted a groundbreaking thread seconds before you view it?

Would you not comment?

If the thread title was something like "OMG, look at this" and had 50 flags then i probably wouldnt read it even if it was proof of aliens landing on the lawn of the whitehouse.

If it is obvious that the OP has put some effort in then i'll generally try and find a good reason to reply.

@antar, you can follow me around anytime sweetheart.

I usually reply if there is a vital part of the discussion that is missing, something that a poster may be unaware of and I do my utmost to bring it to attention. I also reply if someone is unfairly slagging a particular personality for no reason other to discredit the thread topic by raking up mud. I try to defend those people as they are not here to present their side.

I usually reply when the thread is interesting and I disagree with something in it.

Lol Sherpa, you slay me. Because I am nearly vegged out with health issues of late. A noreaster is putting down 2 ft of snow in the great lakes area. And just to communicate with others in a hopefully positive way. I like people. Always have. And dangit, why hasn't my points changed in my last three posts....lol...like that's going to give me a new kidney.

I reply when it is a subject that I am interested in, or if I think knowledge may be gained by reading a thread. Also some threads have subjects that I simply feel strongly about and I feel I must comment.

Why do I reply to this thread?

I think, therefore I type.

Perhaps this is a good place to mention, just an observation...lots and lots of good people are here, 'In' these forums, 'on' ATS, not sure of the correct grammar...

Even though the overall membership is large, and growing daily, seems the regular participants are a mere fraction, on an average monthly basis.

Some of us come to be challenged, some to contribute what we can, others to just sit and read and say something when it seems appropriate. Some get involved in squabbles...I count myself in this category...but it is still a community, and should be respected as such.

I am not seeking 'applause' from this post, just wishing to say it is a good community, and should be respected by ALL members as such.

Cheers

i will most likely reply to everything,
that has a intresting subject or if someone is being ignorant or posting false info

but if i see someone that is posting and they dont like hearing the prospectives of others i wont post and get dragged into a argument.

I will reply to a thread under two conditions, the first being, that I feel I have something of value to contribute, the second being, that there are not so many replies that no one is ever going to read through the whole thing and find out what has already been posted, or what directions it might have already taken

Two pages is actualy pushing the limit for most people
