This story made me want to vomit. But I will say this. What if by taking his anger out on that puppy, it prevented him from going off on a human in that way? I dont condone this, and it makes me sick, but I have never been in a war, I get stressed out if I get lost in my city. I have no idea how I might be able to cope with being in a war.

Also, with recruiting numbers so low, I would bet the military is lowering standards. Dont forget that a lot of times, a judge will offer a CRIMINAL a way out, armed service or jail. So who knows what kind of people we actually have over there any more. I am sure the majority of soldiers are great people, I come from a strong military family, but they are not ALL good. Some are bad.

I was hoping this was an update, I have not heard one thing on this story since it happened.

Wow, this is like the fifth thread that I have seen entitled "US soldier does..." Then followed by some mildly dramatic thing, then followed by how bad how bad this soldier must be. Besides the many posts saying this is fake, give me the man a dammed break. Tell me if you were at war. Woud you be this magnificent, honerable, all knowing, super soldier? Or do you think that you might reach your breaking point and lose touch with, or be almost numbed to things? Picture all the bad things your going to see, all the death, all the chaos, the constand violence. Literally at any second of the day you can die in a violent manner. The man did a wrong thing by harming the puppy if the video is real. To go on and on about how bad this man is is very wrong. I don't know how many times this needs to be explained. This is a war! Bad things are going to happen in this war. All the "bad things" the soldiers are accused of doing are mild compared to the enemys wrong doings to say the least. And even at that you'll still here more and more complaining about our soldiers wrong doings. Lets hear about the genocide on the Kurds, the mass graves, the sawing off of human heads, the execution of women, mutilations, public torture, and that's not even the beginning i'm sure. Then after we discuss the enemy's wrong doings. Lets talk about a fake video of a puppy falling of a cliff.

I don't think that this soldier is truly 'evil'. A horrible thing done, yes, but what is really going on here? Clearly he is suffering from some kind of mental disorder and frankly I would too if I had to serve 2 tours of duty at 15 months each with only a 2 week leave.

So, maybe instead of saying how horrible he is and how horrible the standards must be maybe we should be saying how horrible the people that are sending/leaving these soldiers over there are.. and how horrible it is that they are not giving proper and timely psychiatric care.

holy #.

That must be one realistic looking stuffed dog.

I would beat those guys until their faces cave in.

Part of me has to laugh, though.... only in the hopes that it was fake.

I guess I played too much Earthworm Jim. It's funny until it's real.

Of course there would be SOMEone to try proving it to be a fake. People are mindless loyalists in this country. It's getting old.

Smash his face in, ey? That's something i'd like to watch you fail to accomplish. If the story was different and not about a American Marine you would likely question and debate the video.

You have seen your share of dogs being thrown, and not only that, you can predict how a dog would react to being thrown.

No offence, but I'm finding that slightly troubling.

My problem is the people making excuses for the soldier on how he may be suffering by all the horrors and violence he's seen. BOO_HOO, don''t be a f*%#$ soldier if you don't know what the hell you are getting into. This abuse of animals is certainly a deep seated emotional and mental disorder. Which is highly doubtful that it was brought on by war scenarios. People are weak, and this man is of the weakest. Why then do the majority of the soldiers NOT take a route similar to this? He deserves all the harsh criticism he is getting and needs to be criminally charged and psychologically evaluated.

And it is not faked, stop acting like this doesn't happen. The so called good guys can be just as evil as anyone.

Looks like they got what's coming to them...disciplined!

What a cruel thing to do to such a sweet animal.
