BBC to spend £25 million on Arabic channel

www.telegraph.co.uk

The BBC is to spend £25 million of taxpayers' money a year on creating an Arabic television channel to rival al-Jazeera in the Middle East.

The station - part of the World Service funded by the Foreign Office - launches next Tuesday with a pledge to provide independent and authoritative news "without fear or favour" to anyone.

The BBC or should that be, The Bush and Blair Corporation - doesn't have much integrity left of being an independent broadcaster.. Will be regarded as a mouth piece of the british govt.

Was this approved by the taxpayers?

Interesting though..I'll stick to Al Jazeera if I ever had to keep up with the news..
