Internet is the Devil!

Mod, i think the O.P. is using this thread for points. He has not even reported. Non the less i think it is pretty amusing.

I dont think anyone thinks the internet in general is the work of the devil, perhaps certain sites, but not the whole thing...

No, there's a well known belief that "computers" and the "internet" equate to the "devil" in more wacky "christian" church systems. I know a fue people in a U.P.C. that although they don't "see" evil in computers/internet, they still have an adversion to using the techonology.

Just as foolish as it is to post on an internet web forum that the internet is the work of the devil and that using the internet will in fact damn you to hell...

It is just as foolish for like 7 people (I didn't count so don't hold me to that number) to point out that he is just using this thread for points by posting so on his thread, thus giving him the very points he was after... lol

If in fact he is just using this thread for points, which he most definitally IS... I give him props!!!

This is a great idea, people cannot resist commenting even knowing this is totally bull!!! Best idea since the pet rock!

Good job you have the internet to be able to tell us all .And good job we have it, to be able to read your post.

I agree, at least figuratively if not literally. Call me insane, but for me, computers were a helluva lot more fun in the days when we just had dial-up and BBS's and such. The internet today is an enormous time-waster, and I vote we get rid of it.

Personally, I believe that the internet is a tool, to be used by all. It, much like a rock, can be used to help us, or to hurt us. It's all in the intent wielded behind said object.

Actually...you may be on to something

you say the internet is the devil....the number of the beast is 666

in the language the bible was written in numbers represented letters and a 6 represents w so 666 = www

the number of the beast is the internet!!

and if thats not enough we have the bible telling us

"And that no one may buy or sell except he who has the mark or the name of the Beast or the number of his name." (Rev:13:16-17)

which probably means that sometime in the future it will be impossible to trade except by way of the internet...we are already moving in that direction with more and more people buying online and physical shops being lcosed as online shops are opened.......

and here I was thinking that the internet is a great medium to transmit the message ofChrist

As a Christian i think that the intenet is a wonderful tool,and it is that,a tool,is an axe evil? It can take a life or build a house to shelter you from the storm,what is evil is the heart of man and how he uses the tool.

If not for the net then i would never have met some of the friends that i have now,even flew to America for three weeks and stayed with them,had an amazing time.

this post bothers me, but you are entitled to your opinions and thoughts.

the internet is no more evil than hand tools, donuts, starbucks coffee and circuit city.

my take is a simple one, all of what i mentioned is neither good or evil, what determines what is evil or good is the intended usage.

just looked on google and the letter that corresponds to our 'w' which would have been used originally is the Hebrew letter 'vav' which means 'hook'

could this be another sign that the internet is the devil with so many people getting 'hooked' on online gaming, dating and shopping....

I know my reply might be late but I feel I might as well speak my mind. How is the internet really the devil? To me TV is more or less the "devil" or frankly anything that isn't taken in moderation can be the "devil" to anyone. I guess in this day in age, if someone doesn't agree with something it's considered to be the devil, or work of the devil.

One porn site sure does do damage to the internet's image now doesn't it

Well I'll play devil's advocate here (sorry for the pun) and venture to say that the internet is the ultimate Tree of Knowledge and we are all partaking in its fruit.
