Our world is doomed not because of demons or Armageddon, but because there are so many people believing in things never seen, as this thread proves.

I wonder if all the wonderful stuff I've read in this thread are things that people seriously believe in. So, I ask you: do all of you believe what you have written? or it is a simple mind game for you to post the various preposterous theories of yours?

Why don't you believe in talking animals, giants, unicorns and dragons? Since they are described in the bible that makes it all 100% fact. All you have to do is believe. And 10% earnings to your local church wouldn't hurt.

(sarcasm)

I think you're trying to justify using marijuana. Excuse me if I am wrong. It's a lame argument . He gave the plants to use for food. Clearly, not to alter your mind. That is sorcery... sorry if it ruins your buzz.

Yes, I have prayed for healing. And when God is ready, he will heal me. Paul lived with a thorn in the flesh his entire life.

I, like Paul have too! So, I understand, what I am saying is I would like to get the understanding that Jesus had in order to manifest healing. Not just for myself, but, for others. I think, people (myself included), are missing something.

Great job BW, you really opened my eyes to something new.
I do believe that the angels who taught people sorcery also taught them to make good medicines as well as illegal drugs. I believe this is a sign of the times, but I must say that we will really know that it is when people of great powers openly start to worship "angels".

It all has to do with Satan's "Great Conspiracy".

Also are you pre-trib, mid-trib or post-trib?

I'm starting to lean towards the post-trib being true, even though I'd like pre-trib to be true lol.

How do you know God didn't give us plants to alter our mind? That's a pretty big assumption on your part.

I think that's what a lot of religions come down to. The willing suspension of common-sense.

I dabbled with Christianity once (I liked this girl who was into it). There were some genuinely nice people involved, and some weird stuff going on (I witnessed exorcisms--very cool!).

But to the point. One thing I heard a lot was 'if you don't agree with what is in the bible, then it's because you don't understand, but eventually you will.' I find that a bit worrying. It's like brain-washing.

No assumption. You obviously didn't read any of the thread. The Bible repeatedly condemns it. The topic is the Bibles teaching.... not your opinion.

OK, let's look at the etymology of pharma, shall we?

Cmon people we can't all walk around proclaiming that we have the real insight into religious doctrines just because we're Christian.

Too often I hear someone say, "look, I'm Christian, so I know what Christ meant when ______" or other insights into history etc.

God gave us satan and hell so maybe everything he creates is not 100% good. Despite his manic mood swings and psychopathic tendencies, he still loves us. ..I feel Pandora's box opening.

Jimmy I guess all the conspiracies in religion can be traced back to that source. It's the ultimate conspiracy for mens hearts and minds.

I used to be post trib. AshleyD had about convinced me of pre trib. Which the way this world is going would be fine by me bro!

Great thread this is a great question. I too have been thinking this of late as I have just started alot of wholistic homeopathic type medicines and I feel have been led to this point by God to find these healing methods.

Well anyways I don't know if this is really fits but I kind of think it does. Its known that oils have had a large use in the bible and the churches. I am not sure how an oil was made back then but there definately is some preparation going on, ie: plants just don't secrete oil.. (or do they?, I could be wrong please inform) and there many different types of oils and even forbidden (meant as sacrafice for God only) combinations that according to here that involved cannibus.

Here is also a page with some examples of how oils were used

What version of the bible are you reading? And who wrote it? How do you know the humans that wrote it knew any better than us about what God thinks? A lot of the bible is pure fairy-tale, and I'm talking about the original versions, not the many many translations. For example, there was no resurrection. Total fantasy. And Jesus did not describe himself as the 'son of God', he used the title the 'servant of God'. Seems he was a bit of a pacifistic militant socialist, a bit like Gandhi only bigger. Funny how people have used the bible (not written by Jesus) to justify greed and violence. Things get twisted up...

When I was a child and began reading the Bible, I found it very difficult to understand. Over time it became clearer and clearer.

Translaters do not take into account that the Bible builds upon itself, and that you can not understand one part sometimes without understanding another. Some of the NIV translations are on phrases, they claim in order to make them clearer when in fact, they have the opposite effect. For example, the book of Revelations refers back to what was stated in Daniel.

I had always read the KJV until a few years ago when I purchased the George M. Lamsa's translation from the Aramaic of the Pesh#tta version. There are differences, but, I believe with more clarity.

I agree... I can't say that God intends us to use ANYTHING, but I do think he gives us the natural capacity to learn what to eat/use and how to use it.

Lots of genuinely good medicine will alter our consciousness. All the same, I see it as medicine, and not a 'drug'. Just like some animals might eat food we would consider poison... it's just food for them. The word 'poison' and 'drug' are human inventions.

Nobody can claim to know why certain plants were created... to say we know what God intended Marijuana etc. for is wildly overstepping our boundaries as mortal beings. Doesn't matter whether you are religious or not, you cannot speak for the creator.

What part of this did you not understand? The first thing in the OP...

Note: I am a Christian. The topic of this thread is not my faith or anyone else's. This is a conspiracy theory involving the suppression of a Biblical teaching. If that bothers you please have some courtesy just read another thread. I welcome people of all faiths to share insight into why this teaching might be suppressed.

Oh hang on. Are you just saying that is what the bible says, which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with what God thinks about pot?

You're being unreasonable. Nobody is bashing the bible.

There is a rule on ATS that you can't make a thread exclusive to bible believers etc.... that's just not how it works.

In any case, we are still discussing whether or not the Bible can speak for God. I don't believe the bible is the word of God, it is the word of man. If Men speak for God, that is blasphemy. If we read the Bible and decide it is speaking for God, then we've just decided that we as men can speak for God: which is blasphemy.

So you see, even Jesus himself would warn against mistaking the Bible for the word of God. God never said anything about Sorcery or prohibited use of plants/drugs... God is beyond such things. These are matters for men and society.

I'm not a fan of the KJV either. I prefer the NIV. Once you start to see the big picture a lot of things that seem crazy at first glance start to make sense. I think also that God communicates to us through his word, we can get new knowledge form the same passage we've read as he reveals it to us...
