Are you on a healthy diet? - It will kill you

Topic started on 29-2-2008 @ 06:31 AM by quintar

This is one empowering subject.

I just discovered this yesterday.

We all know about the good fats and bad fats and all the things we shouldn't eat. We stay away from red meat, eat chicken and fish, turkey, skim milk, and fruits and veggies.

Aside from the fruits and veggies, the above diet is what is killing each person in the world (who is on an animal based diet).

Please look at Dr. Ruth Heidrich.

For all my 47 years, I thought I was extremely healthy! After all, at that time (1982), I'd been a daily runner for 14 years, had run 3 marathons, and ate what I considered a very healthy diet -- lots of chicken, fish, and low-fat dairy.

Sounds like a healthy person eating healthy things right? Well she then developed breast cancer and was told she'll need chemotherapy.

She went against the advice of five doctors and found a doctor who told her to switch to a plant based diet.

That was 20 years ago.

There are many other examples if you search 'plant based diet' on google.

Also look for a documentary called 'Eating' and they claim is the leading cause of unassisted suicide, because the amount of toxins and garbage we put in our bodies, by the time we're 50 or 60, what do you think the damage is like?

Cholesterol ONLY comes from animal based diets.

Animal based diet clog your arteries, and plant based diet open them.

Why A Plant-Based Diet?

Contrary to what we have been taught about nutrition in any culture, the majority of us are still kept in the dark about what the optimum diet for us consists of. This is not surprising when you realize that most governments that provide us with our nutritional guidelines are connected with very powerful organizations such as the meat, dairy, and egg industries who not only expect, but demand that their products are promoted in the dietary guidelines. Culture and tradition also keep us tightly glued to addictions and unhealthy habits.

Heart disease is the number one killer of men and women in the U.S. and as Dr. Michael Klaper states, "It is essentially animal-fat that clog us up and make us fat." Dr. Klaper also states,"We have absolutely no nutritional requirement for animal products. There is no such thing as a cow-flesh or chicken-flesh deficency."

Dr. Klaper is not the only physician that advocates a cholesterol-free diet. Others include Dr. John McDougall, Dr. William Castelli, Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. Ron Cridland, Dr. Gabriel Cousens, Dr. Robert Kradjian, Dr. Dean Ornish, and a waiting room full of many, many more. Dr. Dean Ornish has proven that coronary artery disease is reversible with a cholesterol-free diet, stress management, meditation, and yoga.

This all makes sense when you understand some basic principles about nutrition.

* All cholesterol in the human diet comes from animal-foods.
* The human body produces all the cholesterol it needs.
* The human body has no need for animal-foods.
* The majority of saturated fat in the human diet comes from animal foods.
* Everything the human body requires for excellent health can be found in plant-based foods.
* The main fuel that the human body utilizes for energy:
carbohydrates and simple sugars.
* Carbohydrates or simple sugars in meat:
none.
* For proper evacuation and a healthy colon we need plenty of fiber in our diet. Amount of fiber in meat and dairy products: none.
* Amount of protein a baby receives from mothers milk:
about 5-8% protein.
* Too much protein is linked to osteoporosis and kidney problems.
* Eating a diet rich in animal foods has been linked with heart disease, many cancers including breast cancer, and prostate cancer, stroke, diabetes, and an other degenerative diseases.

Why a plant based diet?

In the Eating documentary I mentioned before, they show that an Animal based diet costs about $100/person and it kills them faster. Compared to a plant based diet where it costs 10 CENTS/person and keeps them living longer.

Has anyone else noticed that we went from 'drink 1 glass of milk every day' to 'drink 2 or 3 a day'.....

For those who wish to argue, have fun. I am not here to convince anyone. Just to inform

Ive been looking for something like this for a while so thanks

I have been thinking about a plant based diet for a while now, im 25, been a vegetarian my whole life and steered away from eggs also.... the last 18 months or so i dont really feel 'well' or energized and have been having a few minor health problems....... i have noticed that the better i eat the better i feel, the worse and more i eat the worse i feel, which is obvious i know, but its getting worse, i mean this by if i dont eat very healthily for a day, i really struggle the next day with headaches, tiredness, fatigue etc....... i actually feel like ive been poisoned sometimes..... being a veggie i often thought it was best to have a large intake of dairy products to compensate, but now my instincts are going against all that..... i have a 7 yr old son, also a vegetarian so i would like to encourage him to this way of eating, even though hes been brought up on a lot of dairy because i was none the wiser

thanks, flag and star

Nice post Quintar, starred.

Interestingly, when you look at how humans have survived over the past few dozen millennia, the food we were eating was far less filled with meat than it is nowadays, and you want to know why?

Simple; We can get an awful lot of chickens, really, really easily.

Look at battery farms - the average farm will churn out hundreds of chickens a month, and most of them chickens end up on our dinner tables.

This is entirely contrary to how humans survived less than 200 years ago.

In those times, you were actually quite lucky if you had meat on the table for dinner, and most people survived simply by eating bread, corn, fruit and veggies.

Most of the fat they got was from milk.

It was the soldiers, the warriors who got meat* - and that is a truth that has been true for thousands and thousands of years.

When you compare the eating habits to that which we eat nowadays, it really isn't surprising how people are suffering because of what they eat.

A clear example of capitalism turning against us.

*Along with everything else, of course.

Some say that we are not meat eaters as we do not have the teeth for it. Interesting, anyone here move from a meat diet to a plant based diet?

I know of one or two people who did it, and they told me i should really try it myself.

I could try and get ahold of them if you want to know something like.
