This was passed on to me by more than one MD, including a very close friend. You can't find this info anywhere on the web. Maybe they have discovered
it isn't true. Maybe it has been conveniently omitted from public discussion because it is true, but doesn't really work the problem.
If that is true (and I can understand why misinformation would be widely spread based upon this, for the safety of women) we have basically been duped
-- for our own safety -- people would claim.
If that is false, then I should probably totally retract this post, because even suggesting this idea would be dangerous. (I definitely wouldn't
suggest it anywhere else except ATS, and then only with the qualifier that people should TAKE NO CHANCES!)
So, is the truth really known about AIDS? I am suspicious.
Edit: One reason I am suspicious is that the stigma associated with male homosexual behavior might cause the statistics to be skewed, i.e. men might
claim they caught AIDS from their female partner rather than come out of the closet. That doesn't serve anyone, does it?

AIDS- Aquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome
syndrome : Pathology, Psychiatry. a group of symptoms that together are characteristic of a specific disorder, disease, or the like.
A syndrome is not contagious as it isn't a vector or a disease.
Immune deficiency syndromes have been listed in the medical encyclopedias for over 100 years, long before HIV came about.
Things that are scientifically known to cause Immune deficiency Syndromes are :
Malnutrition
recreational drugs such as, Heroin, Cocaine, Crack, Crystal Meth, Poppers, etc. etc.
and even the pharmacuticals that are prescribed to deal with AIDS actually cause AIDS
Nucleoside Analogs-AZT, DDI, 3TC,
Non nucleoside reverse transcriptage inhibitors- like Nevirapine
Protease inhibitors, etc.
