I don't know if you picked a nerve, or that you are biased from your current situation.
Its very easy to preach from a moral standpoint when you have everything in life that you want. A happy relationship, a stable life etc.
Im not denying that you have a point, from a practical standpoint, but as with everything human, its never that straight forward.
Not everyone is happy, some people turn to sex/drugs because they think that it will make them happy. Not everyone has found their ideal partner.
People lie, people get drunk, people do stupid things, for no apparent reason.
You theory, while being being compelling is flawed on a basic level.
Human instinct. Next to survival, the instinct to re-crate is a strong one. No moral thoughts, words, wisdom, hind-sight or effort is going to change
that one. Genetics are genetics.
However, attitude plays a great part. We are surrounded in a sexed up, icon driven society, engineered by marketing companies, fashion icons.
Conditioned to think that beauty is skin deep, and that sex is something to be sought after.
The usual control methods (the bible/etc) no longer work, and we seek after status, technology and money.
Get rid of the control methods, and the attitudes, backed up by ID cards tied to medical records, you might stand a chance on your crusade.
Aids natural, i doubt it. A very clever weapon, manipulated by our own self-importance's.
