I read an atricle on "global conscience" a few years ago, in that it referred to a "Global Amnesia". In that we perceive that there was once a great global cataclizim, or event, but we do not know what it was. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about these topics.

That's the domain of Alternative history i think. You can read about catastrophes of old in the Bible and other holy-books (the great flood etc.) And the Global Amnesia is caused by the fact that when a person gets born (again) it doesn't know what happened in the past. Only on a subconscious level we al do know what happened and have the trauma's that go with it. Something like that in any case. Don't know very much about it really.
