One of the most racist people I've ever known was in an upper level position the Secret Service in the early 1990's.
I don't know if Clinton purged these stupid, bigoted Neanderthals or if now
under Bush 2 these retards have been rehired. Given the controversy of the Secret Service
not checking for weapons at the Obama debate in Dallas-I wonder if what happened in organizations
like FEMA (where Bush filled high positions with incompetent, weak-hearted zombies).
Has the Bush idiocy done the same with the Secret Service?
I wonder if our Secret Service now consists of moral wimps like in the administration?
Watch and see if they play deaf, dumb and blind when they are supposed to be guarding Obama.

Anyone see the article in the Saturday May 10th New York Times about
racism in the Secret Service? Apparently it is more widespread than anyone
previously suspected. Black secret service agents are being harassed,
denied promotions (there are lawsuits), and there have been
emails about rejoicing if a plane with a black candidate gets
shot down by a missile. This confirms the above previous post.

I know a black woman-a college professor-who thinks
the secret service will set up Obama. That's how much confidence
the Secret Service inspires. Pathetic.

I posted this awhile ago when a newbie but since you asked....

I guess you don't remember Bush reading 'My Pet Goat' the morning of 9-11.
The Secret Service didn't do their job that morning. Why?
Secret Service protocol during an attack is to whisk the President away to
a secure location. Given this nuclear age why would they wait 7 minutes
and let Bush read 'My Pet Goat'? It doesn't sound right to me.
They failed to do their job probably because they were
either in on it or incompetent.

Remember that in July 2001 it was reported in the New York Times that
John Ashcroft then Attorney General and other top members of other agencies
such as the Secret Service were told not to fly on commercial airliners.

The answer to what happened during 9-11 will probably one day come from
these secondary agencies that no-one really considers.

So, you are a former member of the President's protective detail? Because you seem to think you know what protocols are.

The attack was over 1200 miles away. The WORST thing to do is to immeadiately whisk the President out of dodge when there is not an immeadiate threat. Because that would be the PERFECT way to get the President assasinated. Get a sniper in position to wait for the Secret Service to do something stupid like that. No, the smart play would be to rapidly resweep the area to ensure there werent any threats outside the building, BEFORE you move the President. Which is what they did. There wasnt a launch warning from NORAD, there were not any aircraft in the area, there were NO immeadiate threats to the President, so they took a few minutes to resweep, let the President make some preliminary contacts with his staff, and THEN move him.

As for John Ashcroft, I know firsthand he was still flying commercial airliners in July 2001 for personal business. Besides, warnings like that are not unheard of. They used to happen at least once or twice a year. The only reason this particular warning is memorable, is because two months after it was issued there was a terrorist attack.

The immediate area would have been pre-swept.
What, you think the secret service were sitting on their hands
in an area where the President was? That's stupid.
In a top code red threat like this the Secret Service if they're
smart would have driven the President's armored vehicle up
onto the sidewalk and as close to the door of the school as
possible. And then evacuated him surrounded by shielding
that swat teams use that they carry in a service vehicle.
Instead they put all those kindergarten chidren in jeopardy
from a snipers RPG-if you use your logic.

1200 miles is nothing when you are talking about the nuclear age.
Would you let a ship from North Korea with missiles get
within 2000 miles of mainland US? Of course not.

There were all kinds of bogies on the radar on Norad.
Anything airbourne at the time could have been a potential
hijacked plane. There were all kinds of aircraft in the area
then.

If anyone doesn't know that Bush is the dumbest piece of crap
that ever came down the pike then it means that those secret
service agents are dumb as a lead weight. You don't wait for
his staff who are a bunch of low IQ turd lackeys -you keep your
protocols and get the President on Air Force One or into a Command
Center right away. Bush continuing to read 'My Pet Goat' for
seven minutes will go down in history as one of the biggest blunders
in the history of the 21st century.
