This isn't cloverfield, you didn't hear strange noises from the earthquake, i was awake and live in Nottingham, and i just heard that, a earthquake.

Seriously some people need to come back to reality.

fauldworthing is now a weapons test site.it is not mod,but it is a privatized site.
the people who live in the near by villages have been compling about the site for a while saying that they can feel the house shake and cracks have appered in there houses ect......

I thought I felt the earth moving on tuesday, people did not believe me, can anyone confirm that there was a quake in the UK this week, because although I feel minute tremours all the time, this week was a lot stronger.

Just thought i'd comment on the Seismology of this quake. Here in the UK we do have Fault-Lines, however we also have post-glacial quakes, which are areas of compressed land which suddenly uplift after the retreat of the last Glacial ice-age. The same phenomenon happens in Scandinavia accountaing for the majority of their +5 Earthquakes away from any major fault-line.

The worry most people should have however is the Cheshire-Lancs Fault has been relatively inactive in its Central areas, there's been some tension quake release with the recent Manchester swarm and in Stoke, but the majority of this fault hasn't seen a +4 quake for some time. Many prominent areas lie across this fault line including the off-shoot faults of the Goyt Valley and Marple, which both run through populus areas.

yesterday there was a 2.2 mag quake land based near Stavanger Norway. so it seems that no where on the planet is safe from earthquake, lets just hope it was a one time thing .

Ok, what is with this thread? It started in 2008? But there was a quake today, a 5.3, and no one is talking about this recent one? Am I losing it, or cofused to the dates on this thread?
