i can't believe no one has mentioned that there already is a pole shift under way. ever since 98 or 2002 or sumpin like that. Its already moved by 15 degrees if I remebember correctly. i have to search thru all my rearch to find it, but airports in canada and Minesota already repainted their landing strip degree numbers to the new headings as required by law. Having you runway number be the heading it facing type thing. Slowly & surely till the big slip where we have 3 days of darkness on 1 side and sunlight on the other. Then the earth spins the other direction.

I still think that the end of the world in 2012 is a big load of bull#.
I believe in New World Order and in everything that is connected to it... But if you look back in the history of mankind and check out many predictions you will find out that the end of the world in 2012 is a end of the world number 154xx in the list.
I'm 22 and I already remember 2 ends of the world. Year 2000 was claimed as the end of the world because all computers were expected to go down. Second one was in 2008.

But I've never seen 9/11 2001 date in any predictions. That was the real beginning of the end of the world.

Understand, where have I ridiculed anyone, my views on religion are my own, when some one comes here and tells us that most of us are going to die in less than 5 years I want to hear more than just religeous dogma and ignorance.

One cannot simply make such massive and important statements and then calmly sit back and say its because they have seen the future and I am right and everyone else is wrong. As stated before I'm sick to death of the doom and gloom brigade who dream of the end of the World and the golden age that they and only they will enter.

I have seen and experienced alot of strange !@#$ in my life and I am only 26. I have seen to date at least, on six different occasions, including the last time occuring very recently, extraterrestrial or at least extremely highly advanced craft, whether they be manned or drones, they were nothing less than out of the ordinary. I have had a pepsi can open up by itself, with the tab inside the can, which would rule out an exposion, and aluminum is non magnetic, which would rule out magnetism. So WTF was it an implosion, a ghost, alien, or perhaps my unwitting PK? I found a native american rock bowl when it was hollow side down in a channel that led from the ocean at Torrey Pines State Beach, that fed into a shallow salt water marsh. The thing is the rock bowl was completely unremarkable as far as the type of stone that was used, but yet it seemed to glow or shimmer, like it was begging me to pluck it from the water. When above the surface of the water, it was completely plain jane, that is until I turned it over and realized that it was a native american rock bowl. I am just going to throw in my two cents here since I seem to be a little late joining this discussion. I have read many things concerning the supposed end of the world 2012 and in my personal opinion, I do not think much is going to happen. However, I am pretty much convinced that, due to the solar maximum being at it height in 2012, many of our satellites and electronics will become inoperable. It will be a major set back but nothing that we cannot rebound from. I do wish that something catastrophic would happen. Something that would give rise to the power and age of reason. But I just do not see that happening...hopefully I am wrong.

I just want to be captian bringdown a little here. The reason why the mayan calendar seems to "end" in 2012 is because the freakin' spainairds BURNED all the books they had except for FOUR codices. The mayan callendars continued long after 2012. Then they were burned by the spanish for being heretical and demonic. The "predictions" made for 2012 all seem to stem form the idea that it is an end. In reality it is ignorance. The lack of substance allows people to apply anything they feel to a specific date. There has been weird and horrible # throughout time. Earthquakes, volcanoes, people killing other people is not new by any means. People grasping for meaning with this date should research the millers, a group of people who thought the world was going to end in 1847.
This was "based" on calculations from dates mentioned in the bible. They all gathered for the rapture and waited and it never happened. The millers recalculated and came back for the rapture in 1848. yet we are all still here. If the maya were so good at predicting the future, maybe they should have seen the comming of the europeans and made better weapons.

It was very nice to read a positive 2012 statement for once. Ever since the turning of the century in 2000, I had searched and researched for everything regarding the End of the World and what was to happen, etc. etc. Eventually after looking through everything, I saw a very common thread: Although tons of predictions for earth shattering physical changes, mass deaths, hysteria, and so on - if enough people INSTEAD treated the upcoming changes with open arms and welcomed it with peace and love, many, if not all, of these disasters would never come into existence. It was NOT the actual end the "world" as in planet - that was listed toward the end of all time, so far out in the future it is not even funny, but rather an end to an age and way of thinking, a renewal of the earth and the solar system, and a new age of mankind, new animals, new plants, and so on - and warnings not to interfere by trying to "save" any animals or species of plants or insects dying off - they are dying off for a reason - so that specific mutations can happen to create new life, totally different from what exists today.

So, in 2012, the underlying consciousness of the world itself will be raised, and if enough people go forward with love and hope instead of fear and trepidation, the mass deaths can be avoided.

The "Pole Shifting" you are talking about here isn't the commonly understood term of the "Pole Shifting" What is actually going on "now" is that the magnetic and the axis (directional: according to the earth's spin) poles.

If anyone is trying to understand what I am saying is that there are not one north and one south pole. There are actually two north poles and two south poles. There is the magnetic "poles" and the "axis" poles. The Magnetic poles are the place where the north and the south are according to the earth's magnetic field, while the "axis" poles are where the north and south poles are according to the earth's spinning. (like a top).

At any rate, the "pole shifting" you're talking about going on now is that the Magnetic and Axis poles are coming closer and closer together.

It is at the point when the Magnetic and Axis poles of north and south come together (close enough) that computer modeling shows the more commonly understood term of "Pole Shifting" happens.

The more commonly understood term of "Pole Shifting" is the event when the poles shift dramatically enough, by reversal or offsetting, for the planet to tumble to a new alignement over the corse of a couple of days to could of weeks....
