Serbia wants US to retract recognition of Kosovo

BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) - The leader of Serbia says Balkan stability would be better served if the United States renounced its recognition of Kosovo's independence.

Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica's (voh-YEE'-slahv kosh-too-NEET'-zuhz) remarks appear in Belgrade newspapers today.

Serbia opposes Kosovo's independence and says it should remain part of Serbia.
