phone which has GPS bluetooth and WiFi so no need for a GPS device or a laptop really, and soon the will all be in a back pack with some high energy
and slow releasing carb snacks like backed beans for when ever i need it. I also have roughly planned where im going considering the situation im in
if i do actualy have to leave the house. im sure i keep thinking of more thing as the months move on but for now that what have got and plan to get.
Definity, it's good to see that you are thinking about these things and I will try not to come over as sounding overly critical. What you have there
is a collection of "boys-toys" that serve very specific purposes and will be of use only under certain conditions.
Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of things you link that are on my wish-list but there they remain, until such point I can justify them.
Firstly, look at your position. Both you and I live in or very close to London. When starting out in a survival mindset you must first consider
yourself and conduct a risk analysis of your situation (everyone should do this). For instance if you live close to the river in York there is a very
real possibility of your home flooding. In the Scottish Highlands this is less likely. In London in the past we have seen attacks on the transport
infrastructure. Sometime the damn tubes just breakdown mid-tunnel. I'm stretching the point a little but under these circumstances a pair of good
walking shoes; knowledge of London above-ground; and a pocket torch are going to be more useful to you than sandbags, and a set of skeleton keys.
It seems that some people (in this I include myself) when facing this issue of survivalism for the first time rush out and feel they need this and
that, that having all the major gadgets will help them and be the end all of the matter. This simply isn't true. Please save your money and spend it
on something more constructive like reducing your overdraft or credit card bill. Believe it or not these are also essential parts of survivalism
IMO.
Like I said it would be unfair to burn you as I have fallen for this already and only now am starting to "level out". Some of the items you list are
good, some not so good. I would certainly be more interested in 30 days of food before a scanner.
Like I said, I pretty much live in London too, PM me if you want to ask me anything.
Nirgal.
