McCain hopes Castro to "meet Marx soon"

www.reuters.com

Republican presidential front-runner John McCain suggested on Friday that he hoped retired Cuban leader Fidel Castro would die soon and said Castro's brother will be a worse leader.

"I hope he has the opportunity to meet Karl Marx very soon," McCain told a town-hall style meeting of about 150 people, referring to communist theoretician Marx who died on March 14, 1883.

This man has no problem calling for the death of others and continuing wars in multiple countries.

His moral compass is really screwed up and he is certainly no Christian.

Another evil man to possibly rule the country. What a great direction the Republican party is headed.

You sure picked a winner

McCain, who is popular among conservative Cuban-Americans, also has said that if he wins the November 4 U.S. presidential election he would keep up pressure for political change in Cuba's one-party state.

Yeah keep the embargo on Cuba you dolt.

You're only hurting the innocent Cubans. The government and businesses can still trade with other Central and South American countries.

I can't believe you're so freaking stupid.

This is from the source I linked in the additional news links:

"So Raul Castro gets an audience with an American president, and all the prestige such a meeting confers, without having to release political prisoners, allow free media, political parties, and labor unions, or schedule internationally monitored free elections," McCain said.

"Senator Obama says he would meet Cuba's dictator without any such steps in the hope that talk will make things better for Cuba's oppressed people.

"Meet, talk, and hope may be a sound approach in a state legislature, but it is dangerously naive in international diplomacy where the oppressed look to America for hope and adversaries wish us ill."

Yes McCain, other people don't have the same agenda as you do.

You only want your corporate buddies access to Cuba's wealth of natural resources.

You do not care about the Cuban people, ditto with Iraq.

You don't give a # about anyone but yourself you war mongering asshole.

The related threads I posted are there to prove this man doesn't give a crap about innocent civilians.

He's willing to sacrifice our soldiers in Iraq and continue the murder of innocents (as well as Afghanistan).

Not only that, but he's willing to continue a failed policy in Cuba even after Fidel steps down. I don't really care who is in charge of the country, that doesn't mean you have to punish the civilians.

We essentially have a dictator in control of the US corporate state, but you seem ok with that.

Douche.

This man (McCain, not Castro) is a menace to society.

The longer he stays in power, the longer complacency and corruption will continue in the White House (if he is elected).

Let's hope Obama can beat him as I'm not a fan of the Clinton.

I'd prefer to see Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich win, but that's not very likely unfortunately.

Its sad the best candidates are shunned and called 'radicals.'

Idiots.

Oh dear God, the old man is losing it.
I think he was referring to another Marx.
Remember, Groucho smoked fine cigars too.

Yes he has lost it.

A man born of a different age leading in the 'new age.' Its pretty sad.

Ron Paul may be old, but at least he is somewhat openminded.

I don't think either really connect to the younger generation (on purpose anyway). However, one of them blatantly attempts to murder the youth.

Guess who?

You don't think that Castro's death would be a good thing?

Was Hitler's death not a good thing?

No I don't call for the execution of anyone.

Who are you to judge? We've all done some pretty horrible things in our lives, and if you haven't, look a little closer.

Murdering Hitler may have ended WW2, maybe not. We don't know.

Fidel Castro is now out of power so its really irrelevant isn't it?

He's not the President (dictator) anymore. He stepped down.

Now are you going to say you want his brother Raul murdered?

I'd love to see democracy in Cuba as much as the next person, but how well did it work in Iraq?

Sure we had Saddam taken out, but what good has that done?

Are we going to occupy Cuba for 100 years as McCain has been calling for in Iraq?

We need to let local politics work themselves out.

The Castros are getting old and will be dead soon enough.

Who said a thing about execution? Are you okay?

I actually haven't done anything close to what Castro has.

Maybe. Why did you make this thread then?

Who said anything about murder? Are you confused?

What do you think "meeting Marx" means?

Where is Marx now? Is he still alive or is he dead?

McCain HOPES Castro dies soon.

If that's not a call for murder, I don't know what is.

I don't hope that Bush/Cheney/McCain and the like die, as much as I may dislike them.

Dying.

I think he's dead, at least last I heard.

He never said he hoped they were killed? There are other ways to die.

As a side note, is there a reason why you put a line between every sentence you write? It makes it confusing to read.

Karl Marx has been dead close to 100 years.

Of course there are other ways to die. He still said he hopes he dies.

Do we want to hear this from a man who wants to be President? I don't think so.

Its not very becoming of a leader of the "free world." I don't think Bush even said anything quite as bad, despite his actions.

I space my sentences because its easier for me to think that way. I don't try to be annoying and I apologize if it makes it difficult to read. Its how I work.

I'm not a huge fan of reading paragraphs that don't have one punctuation mark (not that you do that, but it annoys me).

We have to deal with different writing and learning styles in real life, ditto for the online world.

Sorry.

The sooner Fidel dies the better the chances of Cuba has of joining the rest of the industrialized world.

McCain is just stating an obvious truth that is shared by every Cuban expatriot on the planet and quite a few others to boot.

I have a very special cigar reserved for the death of Fidel.

Grady regardless of personal opinion, McCain should not be advocating for the death of anyone.

He is getting a bit old himself. He's in his 70s is he not?

Well one bad fall and that's a broken hip.

What if someone were to...oh I don't know, hope he falls and hurts himself.

Would you want that person to be President?

No, because McCain is the GOP poster boy these days.

But when its anybody but a beloved member of the grand old party, there's no issue.
