On February 20, 2008 the world experienced one of the most beautiful total lunar eclipses seen in a long time. What makes this one so great was that it was visible early on a cold winter night when the sky was extremely clear.

The following video was taken by me from my front yard that evening. It was extremely cold, everything was covered in a half inch of ice, and I still managed to get my butt outside with DV camera and telescope in hand.

The song is Rise of the Phoenix by Medwyn Goodall. Enjoy!

Here's another video that shows the eclipse in timelapse.

It was an amazing eclipse...I've watched dozens, and this latest one ranks right up there.

Now, understand that that streaming eclipse video is now defunct
(other than going to archive)
but there are tons of other streaming TV viewing topics on this site,
