I didnt read the whole thing, but from what I gather, they just want to ban certain guns and ammunition.

I'm not against guns totally, there neat things, but they were designed for only one thing and I don't like that reason.

Owning a rifle is one thing, but an assault rifle? Who really needs that much firepower? Even pistols, You can't go hunting with a pistol, so what is it for? (besides collecting).

About time....

Note the anti gun slant of the article, and the crappy illogical argument comparing teddy bear regulations to gun regulations. Seen anyone kill another person with a teddy bear? No, unreal comparison.

It would be nice to see a more balanced view on the legislation....

the bill gives the power to issue 'consumer recalls' on any guns or ammo along with other powers to non govt people.....not just assault weapons....guns are 'neat'...hmmmmmmm....guns in the hands of the american population is probably what has kept your freedoms from being taken in just one presidency.........so the govt is taking the slow road....

Never Happen,...way too many rednecks and crack heads armed and ready.

But if it were to pass, you would have many many more people just hiding theirs, making the likelyhood that honest law abiding gun owning citizens becoming a criminal for their constitutional right.

But then there would bwe a revolution...u think?

You seriously think our pitiful little handguns would stand up to the U.S military?

Trust me my friend, if the government wanted our rights taken away, they could easily do it and we couldn't do anything about it except rave about how it was unfair the military has nukes and airplanes.

Say you're deer hunting, and one shot doesn't kill it, just take it down. You don't realise this until you've walked over to the deer. You take out your pistol and finish the job.

For all you skeptics, here's a link to the real/documented bill.
thomas.loc.gov...

So what happens is the Attorney General is the "Gun God", and can say which guns he wants banned, recalled, modified, recalled and so forth.

Personally, it's a buncha gun-grabbing crap, and if it passes.

Go ahead, try to take my rights some more, taking this right is dangerous, cause it shoots back.

The military is made up of many American Family types that have their own weapons.

Do you really think an american soldier en mass would attack his own country? Do you think he wouldnt see the wrong, if it were ordered? Do you think american armies would go in america and kill fellow americans?

I think not.

I like your style!

Do you think american armies would go in america and kill fellow americans?

Maybe not now, but if things keep degenerating the way they are, very possibly. Remember tian an men square?

Oh, heres a quote from on of the gun-grabbers:

"Our main agenda is to have all guns banned. We must use whatever means possible. It doesn't matter if you have to distort the facts or even lie. Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed."
-Sara Brady, Chairman, Handgun Control Inc, to Senator Howard Metzenbaum. The National Educator, January 1994, Page 3.

Yes I do, and remember the chap who defiantly stood his ground in front of the tank?

They didnt kill him, ... and rememer that country is RED and they do not commonly let the citizens own weapons.

Weapons made America free, and weapons shall keep it free.

Ever since the Port Arthur Massacre in Tasmania in australia all semi automatic weapons were deemed illegal and a voluntary hand in process was started.

I personally shat myself because I have an uzi that my uncle gave me from the vietnam war.. I was relieved to find out the gun had been decommissioned and I got to keep it.

by the by

This hand in and new legislation has had a huge impact in gun related crimes.....lowering national averages dramatically.

Just recently the australian government did this again with handguns.....we are yet to see if this round of amnesty hand in does anything for related crime.

i don't think they should have gun laws period.

THR RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS!!!

Assult rifles and similar weapons are exactly what were meant by our fore Fathers when they wrote the constitution.

It was meant so the people could defend themselves against tyranny in government.

Grenades, Assult rifles, Rocket propelled grenades (RPG's), Stinger AA missles, Heavy Machine Guns, Anti Tank Tow Missles.

Arms......ARMS......ARMS!!!!!

Our fore fathers didn't Intend a slow erosion of Amendment rights to the point were we wouldn't even have the right to own a Knife.

First the take your Arms away then they do what THEY want with YOU!!!!!!

It has already begun!

Patriot ACT......

Illegeal searches and seisures are expressly defined and prohibited in our constitution yet we have this in the patriot act!!!!

Why hasn't it gone to the supreme court yet????

Because the peoples rights that are being violated are all Non-US citizens.

alot of people with little documentation that don't make trouble in courts out of fear of deportion.

Little by little they will try to take advantage of us.

We need to be Pro-active in our system of government and VOTE!!!!

We can't keep letting monkeys run our government!!!

sorry for spelling.

The US constitutional right to bear arms has nothing to do with,..

hunting squirrels or bambi,..
feeding your family,..
protecting your home from a robber,..
nor protecting our shoreline (unless attacked).
