Did Ray Really Kill Dr. King?

I was watching the news tonight and saw this story.

Reverend Charles Sherrod is claiming that J. Edgar Hoover was behind the killing of Dr. Martin Luther King.

There is a lot of discussion of this in the following thread, including a very interesting presentation by one of King's associates, William Pepper, who has written a book about the assassination. Many people now believe that Ray was a patsy.

There was a plot by some KKK/business people in St. Louis who were responsible for offering $50,000 for someone to kill MLK. And the FBI never adequately the Raoul character with whom James Earl Ray had been involved with or where Ray had gotten the passport he used to get over to the UK and Europe. They, the FBI, rushed the investigation in order to help put a patsy in jail. Thjere are lots of other loose ends that were never tied up. either.
