Laryngitis!

yeah. i can't talk. it stinks.

Besides the obvious (quit smoking entirely, which I am in no mood to do, I assure you), is there anything I can do to get this over with as quickly as possible?

It comes as the result of a flu, followed by bronchitis, accompanied with a whole lot of coughing. Now the loudest i can get is a very, very hoarse whisper... it's pretty depressing to not be able to say anything, and it gets awkward in public. This also comes at a time when I'm looking for a job, and I don't really want to conduct interviews whispering.

I've cut down on the cigarettes, but otherwise I'm kind of at a loss here. This happened once before, about two years ago, and I couldn't talk for the better part of a month. How can I minimize that this time?
