Today FoxNews reported that Paul Breemer the Civil Administrator in Iraq stated that he would not allow a new Iraqi constitution to be based on Islamic law. First of all who are we to state how they (supposedly a free people now) can write their documents of freedom. I seem to recall recently here in this country when that judge put up the 10 commandments all of the political machines (republican) claimed it was okay because our constitution and bill of rights were based on Judo Christian law. In the eyes of the world we appear to state that freedom is good as long as we agree with you. I am not a fan of RADICAL Islam but how can we tell a musilum country they cannot use their own code of ethics to base their laws upon? It just seems that he dismissed it way to easily and puts our troops in the country at more risk, alienating them even further from the "majority" of musilims in Iraq. Thoughts?
