Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that paying thing. I would think that it pays very well to be an ID 'scientist', the same way that it pays well to be a Global Warming denying 'scientist'

But, most universities steer clear from hiring Creationists. Besides it might eat into the students' pornography classes. (Higher learning, my Foot.)
BTW, do YOU believe global warming is caused primarily by greenhouse gasses?

Personally I believe that it has an impact, yes.

There are obviously other variables that have a saying in the temperature of Earth and our climate, but the scientific research that I've seen, plus the fact that Big Oil seems to have been trying to delay and derail Global Warming research, leads me to the conclusion that there's definitely something to it.

True Story:

I was a quiet child. In grade school I had a few friends. One day some child came up to me and treated me sweetly saying they wanted to be my friend. I was an easy going kid. I was very happy. The next day they asked me if I would go to church with them the following sunday. I asked my family. My family knew what was going on.

Child RECRUITMENT is not right!

When I went to my new "friend" the next day and said I couldn't go, that little sheep of a child said that we could no longer be friends then.

That child was never my friend. That child didn't care about me or my feelings. That child was manipulated into treating me badly because of some candy offered to her by adults in the church "sunday school" drive a.k.a. Child Recruitment.


Religion isn't filled with nice people. It's filled with evil ones.

Keep in mind, sure there are a few nice ones in every religion but that is the exception rather then the rule.

In my own research on organized religion I am appalled at how pagan symbolism and ideals are painted all over it. A church in my town has many different rock sculptures on the outside of it including the Arc, Shamrocks, The serpent eating it's tail, the dove, the Pheonix, the All Seeing Eye, MCDXXLVI (Roman 666) right on the front of it. Not to mention the cross, which in my mind is not only a pagan symbol for winter and summer solstice but personally I think it is disgraceful to God like changing the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday as well as all Pagan (cough, cough) I mean Christian holidays.

No wonder. Organized religion is corrupt. Every single part of it. All this thanks to the Vatican.

I agree with you. I feel rather sorry for those tied down by religion. It seems bordorline moronic to be honest, and has no place in modern society.
Religion reminds me of Thor and his hammer to be honest...that people believed he caused thunder, and i sit, whilst people around me say 'nonsense!', 'silly!' etc...then they adjust the crosses on their neck, and go to church to pray so they will not go to Hell.

I know that the creator "God" of all this is the truth. I'm not saying that "God is a lie". I'm saying that religion is the lie.

Religion States: "God is this". and religion is run by a bunch of monkeys that should be caged.

Religion is the greatest evil in this world because it lies as if it has claim of control of "God".

Every religion out there will say "this is what you have to do" as if their church was God itself.

In that way Religion becomes the antichrist.

Who here in a religion will tell me that their religion doesn't do this? None.

Because that is the truth of the lie.

Religion forshadows its own will over the will of the true creator God.

I feel the globe is warming up, yes, but not primarily because of greenhouse gasses. it is due to the fact that its just what happens with the earth. it heats, it cools. If you check actual data taken from ice samples etc, it proves it.

yeah, i know; its more the words of the song, rather than the title anyway; i try not to be hateful when it comes to others beliefs, but i honestly think religion is for those who are rather 'imaginative' (for lack of a better word lol)
i feel sorry for them to be honest, as i think how they have been programmed to be bigoted sheep.
we should live life to the full, society already offers so so many restraints; why create more? its illogical!

I see you promoting Buddhism as sort of a "perfect" religion, tolerance-wise. Now, perhaps in the ideal, that's true (I haven't studied too deeply into the religion and its many sects, myself). But Buddhists have been every bit as bloody as the Abrahamic religions. Read up on why Buddhism's rather rare in India - because the Buddhists tried to convert everyone and got their butts kicked in what may have been the biggest, bloodiest religious war of ancient history. Look at the near-extermination of the Bon faith in Tibet, and the actions of the Lamas after securing their rule. Buddhism was the religion of samurai who would kill without a thought of remorse or regret because of the "no mind" mentality.

I don't want to sound bigoted here, but the "Buddhism" we see here in America and Europe is severely watered-down. This can be good, or it can be bad, depending on your outlook. But either way it's easy to get the image of Buddhism's history as being squeaky-clean. Fact is, there are painful few religions that don't have blood on their hands. Even Scientology has murdered people, and I've seen some nasty fistfights pop up among Wiccans over Doctrine, which is, hoenstly, the oddest thing I've ever seen...

Sadly friend, words are far more powerful then you give them credit. If one believes that God himself spoke the words, then the words are probably the most powerful and influential aspect of said persons life.

Many religions use their stories and parables as utter truths, that the word written was the word said, and life must revolve around the book.

Christianity is one of them.

Strict organized dogmatic religions will be, by nature, rigorous systems of control, both thought by the directions of how someone should perceive the written word, and by physical action, to ensure all actions abide by the written word.

Words direct our religions, our governments, our philosophies, our education. To manipulate the word is to manipulate the mind. To manipulate the mind is complete, and utter control.

Every religion will have a form of dogma, a form of control, a form of conformity that makes them what they are - a religion, and sometimes a nation.

Give credit to words, because words have through out history displayed that they alone carry the voice of the people, of gods, of legends.. and have withstood every force from tyrannic control to religious holy persecution. They have also been used as a saving message of peace and the glories of all the Gods.. and as excuses and reasonably justification for the worlds most heinous crimes. Often the two separate messages come from the same words.

Humanity may be the evil of religion, but religion is a man made product, and that much is easily reflected in our worlds history of various religions.
