Well ultimately doesn't the problem lie with those elements of the leadership disseminating the rules?

While I would like someone to blame, there is simply not a person or group of persons at fault here.

You can blame human nature or what not, but in the end, we're all to blame.

We have let this sort of thing become common place in this world. We did not stand up to the federal government and tell them to stop acting like a bunch of assholes.

We let them continue.

However, you could make the argument that we weren't aware of what was going on, but that only goes so far.

Somehow we know about the atrocities committed in the Vietnam war, but it continued. Same goes with the Gulf War 1 & 2.

There was an excuse for war and we all bought it.

Story of humanity

You know I have not looked at it that way before.

"Does that mean that we were wrong in the revolution when what were to be Americans pillaged and robbed, stripped fields of seed bearing crop? "

Yeah I forgot that Iraqis were pillaging and robbbing and stripping our fields...uh oh wait a minute...

But the slavery in Iraq yeah the slavery that's it!!

"Does that mean when the horrific cicumstance of the Civil War as we know it now, that the emancipation of the Black Man, we were wrong because of the actions of A-LOT of Union soldiers?"

But know one would doubt we just want Iraq to have what the South Koreans have..thats why we are killing them to save them from being poor!!

"Were we wrong for killing tens of thousands of Chinese consripts in Korea? Look at South vs. north now."

yes, but isn't that exactly what war is? If you have a soldier that wants to double think every move, he will be dead instantly. It's a double edged sword, but i mean, not everyone falls for it. if you don't fall for the brainwashing, you get stationed elsewhere, or reassigned, or perhaps they just send you anyways and mess with you.

Minds tampered with?
Are you familiar with the term "useful idiot"
WE whom have made these debates possible, resent your alternate reality.

and this is the other extreme. really, the truth is somewhere in the middle. ironically Laughing-Cat, you mention WWII. Many of the psychological techniques we have used via the CIA over the last 50 years has been thanks to Nazi experiments that we inherited during WWII.

To say that you have been through the military without having your mind tampered with is either painting you a liar or a fool. Of course the military changes your thought process. I bet before the military, you never had a natural instinct to remove your hat when entering buildings. Or when you stand up straight and put your body at attention even in civilian clothes.

The entire process of boot camp is designed to change the way your brain works. They control your diet, sleeping patterns, what you see, read and hear. Unless you are just a student going through ROTC or something, I don't see how you could deny any of that.

It's not many steps further to desensitize you to warfare. Once you rationalize killing during warfare, it opens up a whole can of mental worms.

Who would have ever thought that The Discovery Channel would want to prevent viewers from actually discovering something? Apparently The Discovery Channel does not feel that its viewers can handle the truth. Do viewers want the responsibility of making up their minds to be left to The Discovery Channel? Well, if they leave it up to The Discovery Channel they will never know what they could know.

We human beings that participate in such act of harming/killing another being for any reason other then self defense should be ashame of your selves as you're NOT consider a HUMAN being. It is a CHOICE to do what it is they do, not accident. Some men in power and their agenda is to inhumanizes us not to feel/care for one another and accomplishing this fairly well with all this war. I for one will NEVER participate in such disgrace (army), it is a choice I am making. It has nothing to do with defending your home, it has ALL to do with killing another being for absolutely NO reason other then making profit for the few old men in power. What give YOU the freaking right to kill another man/woman/child! what gives you the upper hand to make a decision over someone else's life!

To protect their ass US has hired a PRIVATE company to do all their dirty work in middle east so that the "army" won't be responsible for all their disgusting work. WAKE UP PEOPLE, we're not talking about some strangers doing this... it's YOU AND I. With people going on strike against this slave driven government is just the beginning to our own freedom.

Almost no one volunteering would go kill another being... so what do it in the name of law? Anyone joining the army or participate in making any weapon that it's only purpose is to kill another being should be ashame of themselves, how do you sleep at night?

Stop all this none sense before it's too late... we will ALL LOOSE. LIVE IN PEACE and harmony rather then finding the latest weapon to killing each other, we're all ONE! All you'll be doing is killing a part of yourself.

NO, just because someone in the power tells you to jump off the bridge, do you? YOU as one soul, make YOUR OWN decisions that's the problem with society today. People are so weak they expect someone to tell them how to live their lives, just to leave them alone in their little life. It's up to YOU and ME not anyone else to make a change!
