Hi darcon,
In a nutshell ... I'd have to agree with everything CavemanDD said !
My personal journey began in 1989 (or at least that's when I became aware of it). The best way I can describe it was 'putting the light on in a dark
room', (dazzled by it at first, until my eyes started to adjust).
As a result (even though I'm the same person I always was), my life and certainly my perception of it, bear no similarity to my old outlook. Over
time I have discovered new philosophies about ... well, everything really !
I don't pretend to understand it all (I just have total trust in the path I am following and the destination I am being guided towards). The
excitement I felt back in those early days is still as strong in me now as it was then ... in fact probably more so, because I have a better
understanding of it.
I have the same unquechable thirst for knowledge (not from ego - as in knowledge being power - but from a genuine desire to learn and grow). And part
of this 'passion' is to pass this knowledge on to others who wish to progress, so that they can begin to understand too. I get a real kick out of
helping /inspiring / healing people. And this has nothing to do with money (I often work for free), but the look on their faces when the penny drops
and they 'get' the things you have told them or feel the benefits of the therapy you've given them ... that is the best feeling in the world (for
me at least).
But I am not some 'airy-fairy' ... fluffy type. I am an extremely grounded person. That's why I think choice of 'words' is so damn important when
relaying such things !!!
What do I mean by this ?
The wrong word can bring a barrier crashing down and create a total shutdown in further communication if the words used cunjure-up the wrong image or
idea. Therefore, we need to be very careful in the way we communicate with those who are still at the 'curious' stage, to avoid said shutdown.
The popularity of 'New-Age' interests and practices (in my opinion), has caused as much damage as it has good. Yes, there are those who embrace it
whole-heartedly ... not always a good thing ... there are a lot of charlatans out there afterall.
But the main problem that I have witnessed, is the way people (who are not yet aware of their spiritual side), see it all as a big joke. And let's
face it ... when you see some of these self-styled guru's (and the way they perform), they are a big joke. That's not to say they don't know what
they're talking about ... or have a valid point to make, but they do leave themselves open to ridicule simply because of their approach. As a result
anything of value that they have to say is dismissed out of hand (usually by the people who need the education most), the logical left-brainers !!!
So with that in mind, the word I'd use rather than ascension is 'evolusion' (although the bottom line is exactly the same thing). I think words
are very important ... particularly for those who don't understand the changes taking place ... or even realize they're actually happening. For
example; certain words have an adverse effect on certain people (myself included), purely because of the image that pops into your head when you hear
them.
The word 'Channeling' is my particular 'pet-peeve' ... and I actually get an awful lot of my information that way ... so I understand what it
actually means ... and the word still makes me cringe.
Why ?
Because the majority of (although certainly not all), people who claim to be 'channeling' spirit, are usually over the top and flamboyant ... and
more disturbingly ... usually making a great deal of money from the vunerable people who are hanging on their every 'channeled' word !!!
I prefer the term 'seperated-source' to explain some of the philosophies I seem to acquire from 'elsewhere. Or the information that I seem to have
a full understanding of from who know's where (the 'seperated-source ... where else) !
It's a difficult one and no mistake ... but we definately have to think before we go blurting stuff out ... in an effort to turn around the
'mind-set' of those who think we're just a bunch of 'crazies'.
Sorry this isn't meant to sound like a rant ... it's just something I feel very strongly about ... a lesson we all need to learn and be conscious
of, so that more people can move forward.
