This fantasy is great family entertainment, with the emphasis on Family.
A decent story adapted from the novels of the same name. Don't expect any heavy morality content; just a good healthy message.

Overall this film was well acted by kids Freddie Hightower, Sarah Bolger.
Great direction, great CGI, great monster voice overs by Martin Short.

This film should be rated pg-13. Little kids could be spooked enough to have nightmare for years as there are some surprisingly frightening scenes.

Many times films have a questionable ending. This one finished with a surprise that caught me completely off guard.

If fantasy is your bag, then see this film.
I should give this film a little higher rating but it's my review so...
tell me what you think if you go see it.

Now that's a great question! And it wasn't even addressed in the movie, but I surmise, it could be like a piece of string, impregnated with wax or someother flammable material that you would light when you want to explode the spider.

Now if you put those images together...ahhh, maybe not.

Doin great E_B, you? Have a piece of fish for me at Legal Seafood when your are in BeanTown. Happy training!

Legal Seafood is over by the Theatre District. I'm going to be over by the Prudential Center....not far on a warm day....but.....

They'll be feeding us so I will have to save Legal Seafood for another time. Last time I went to Legal Seafood it was the one on Route 9 in Framingham or Natick (Massachusetts also)....with the first wife and her mother.....

Good times? :shk:

If a female asked me to join her for this cinematic experience i would happily comply.
