North Korea has purchased a large shipment of chemicals from China that can be used to make nuclear-weapons fuel, U.S. intelligence officials say.

North Korean procurement agents succeeded in buying 20 tons of tributyl phosphate, known as TBP, a key chemical used to extract material for nuclear bombs from spent nuclear fuel, said officials familiar with intelligence reports of the transfer.
The officials said the chemical also can be used in commercial processes, such as making plastics, ink and paint.
U.S. intelligence agencies, however, believe North Korea will use the TBP for its plutonium-based nuclear-weapons program, based on sensitive intelligence information, the officials said.

It all seems terribly insubstantial and anonymous, Zion: I can only wonder if this is some sort of hoped-for counterweight to what will be emerging (as the Iraqi dossier blossoms and bears fruity as tales of what the US, UK and others sold to Saddam Hussain (WMD-wise).
On balance, not a story that will be pursued, I think: Americans are in China now pressing the flesh and nothing will be served by linking China -at this point -to the "Axis of Evil".

It should be noted who helped china get such privy nuclear secrets....pertaining particularly to the WMDs and not the Tactical nukes they've had since the 60s.

BILL CLINTON! So it is reported by several book sources, I know of one, Rule by Secrecy...but the source I'm referring to is its reference, not its spooky twisted dark body. I'll have to go find it. And double check its validity.
