OK please bear with me. I was thinking the other day about how anyone could possible subscribe to the idea of Creationism . Anyway it occurred to me that designer pets fit into the topic nicely . Designer pets or even to a lesser extend make a good example or case study because they did not evolve as other animals have.

Take a the breed of Persian cat a lovely looking pet but according to the people who lived near me who owned one its food has to be cut up into small chunks because of the size of its mouth. Note I'm not sure if this is related to the breed or just this one cat.
In the wild this cat wouldn't have lasted long and the defect would have died out with it. A better example is the pet dogs that my aunt owns they alleges(SP?) to most dog foods and limited to what they can eat.

The people that created the differnt designer breeds can be seen as akin to god in the Creationism tale . Now here is the thing the people in question were not just magically put on this planet they have or had parents just like you and me. So that relates to the point that a higher power would have to come from somewhere.

I have never gotten a straight answer to the question where god came from from a person of faith . Moving along the people who originally dreamed up these breeds didn't decided every little variation . An example of this in an unrelated species of Elephant . African Elephants have larger ears then there Indian counter parts. Nor did they populate the earth with the cats in a short space of time.

Since the medical issues and other such things haven't had a chance to be eliminated via the process of evolution there is no way ID could have created survival able species. There is no reason why a supposed all knowing higher power would create imperfect creatures .

Well those are my thoughts.
