FBI tracks book sales for terrorism leads

www.worldnetdaily.com

Counterterrorist analysts at the FBI have been monitoring the sales velocity of books dealing with aviation and other security issues, WND has learned.
The bureau recently sent a letter to Prometheus Books in New York to inquire about a recent spike in sales of a title critical of gaps in airport security.

This is interesting. I wonder what other titles are on their list. Is this going to lead to books being banned from the shelves? Maybe the author did a lecture somewhere and people decided to buy his book. Who knows what the spike in sales is from. Why is it that has to send a red flag to the FBI? Now are they going to check out all of those that bought the book? I am just wondering what good it will do them. I think if they looked at some of the books I have, they might be shipping me off as well. I just find this ridiculous. sounds like a bit like the old book burning days. Is this where this country is headed?

This is nothing new. It's thought they've been doing this for decades. Interesting though.

That is why whenever I need a book on how to fly an airplane for dummies I always use my cash.

Good idea.

I think I am screwed already though. I just bought one of those George Bush Voodoo dolls, I wonder if that will count against me.

Prometheus is in the habit of publishing books like "Into the Buzzsaw: The Myth of a Free Press".

Where can I get one of those GB voodoo dolls?

You know I am so sick and tire of the government we have and its moronic attempt of controlling the citizens of this nation.

I am very sad to say that we have turned into a nation rule by nothing but jokers.

While they think that they hold the nation they have not clue of the real power of the people.

hey katt,

I got it at the book store where I work believe it or not. I work at a University Medical center. I am sure if you google it you will find it. It was about 12 bucks I think. And for all those Dem haters, there is also a Hillary doll.

Although it is starting to look like they need to make an Obama doll.

My wife is a librarian who works for the city....she tell me that the library is often monitored by folks "inquiring" about books and rentals of videos....Hummm!

Getting extremely close to 1984!

Uh, oh. All those trashy romance novels I buy are going to get me put on the list for immoral behavior.
I must be an unwed welfare mother.

And my sci fi - well, that shows I'm conspiring with the aliens to overthrow the government.

Wait until they get a look at my web surfing habits (if they haven't already)...

That'll put me on a watch list for sure.

I can't wait till my next book shopping spree. I will go out of my way to purchase books on all the aforementioned subjects. I dare the spooks to come and get me

This is nothing new. Just some government level trolling mixed with a dash of paranoia.

Did she ever give you any examples of what they are "inquiring" about? I am sure, just as libraries are no longer allowed to have porn access, at least locally, that they are heavily monitored by the feds.

Just kidding, marg.

I am sure the CIA knows all about each of us already. LOL It makes you wonder how heavily this site is monitored and if anything is ever kept on file for possible future use. I mean, if they are monitoring books, you know they are definitely keeping an eye on websites.

Don't take this personally but who cares what the CIA knows about me or you or anyone. Get on with life and just make it as difficult as possible for them to collect information on you.

Thank you. I always shop at a small family-owned bookstore and pay cash. Not because a book like "Behold a Pale Horse" might be tagged though. I'm sure I've had a "file" for quite some time now. But I may venture into B&N for old george. Does it come with needles or do you have to buy your own?

Hey, at least we all might be able to meet each other someday-- in the FEMA camps.

Oh yeah, it comes with plenty of needles. LOL
You know, I submitted a question to SkepticOverlord regarding the consideration of a possible ATS convention or something similar. I wonder if he will get it? I think it would b cool to meet fellow members. As long as we could all be civil to each other even though we have differing opinions.

Brill:
No offense taken. the problem is that it is almost impossible to not allow them to collect info on you. Any kind of swipe card is detectable now a days. My work Id is a swipe card. I have to carry a debit card, because carrying tons of cash isn't a good idea. They are involved in every aspect of our lives.

Heck, I'll get one of each. They're all the same. Thanks!
